Toyota to invest $1bn into self-driving cars and robots

TOYOTA has announced that it is investing $1bn in setting up a new company, Toyota Research Institute Inc, in Silicon Valley near Stanford University in Palo Alto, California as a research and development operation to build innovative safety systems that reduce driving errors and car collisions.
