La Tomatina: Google Doodle celebrates 70 years of throwing tomatoes in a giant splat

ONCE every year for an hour on the last Wednesday of August Spain turns a little bit red as thousands of people take to the streets to throw tomatoes at each other for the annual Tomatina festival.
