Following close behind was BBC One's Doctor Who, which was named Best Drama Series, as well as being awarded with an honorary gold prize to mark its 50th anniversary later this year.

The programme's executive producer Steven Moffat collected the prestigious award on behalf of the cast and crew of the long-running sci-fi series, which will soon see Matt Smith hand over to Peter Capaldi in the lead role as The Doctor.
Smith's predecessor, David Tennant, was also victorious at the glitzy television event, collecting the Best Actor trophy, which was one of two prizes going to ITV police mystery Broadchurch.

Miranda Hart was rewarded for her role BBC One's Call The Midwife with the Best Actress prize for a second year, while Mrs Brown's Boys retained its title as Best Comedy.

Sin City 2 poster featuring amply-charmed Eva Green in sheer dressing gown deemed 'too sexy' for ratings board

The Motion Picture Association of America 'disapproved' of a Sin City: A Dame to Kill For poster featuring amply-charmed Eva Green in a sheer dressing gown.
According to Page Six, the ratings board was offended by the 'curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.'
Dimension Film execs are reportedly 'working on a compromise with the MPAA' before the sequel opens August 22.

Apparently, this sort of strict censorship 'happens all the time.'
'The movie will submit ads and the MPAA will ask for tweaks to be made,' an industry insider told E! Online. 'There's a compromise and that's it.'
As revealed in the 2006 documentary This Film is Not Yet Rated, the ratings & appeals board members have little expertise and are supposed to be parents of children 5-17 - but many aren't.
Historically, homosexual content and, in particular, sexual content involving women 'being pleasured' are scrutinized more harshly.

Get Your Celebrity Fix And Career Advice In 3 Fun Reads

Standing Ovation Presentations by Robyn Hatcher
Robyn Hatcher is founder and principal of SpeakEtc, a boutique communication and presentation-skills training company based in NYC. She’s also a former actress and writer for two daytime dramas. In her new book, Standing Ovation Presentations (Motivational Press, 2013), Hatcher shares a thorough overview of communication and presentation best practices, told in a unique framework of 9 ActorTypes (e.g., Hero, Ingenue, Villain, Comic, Whiz Kid, Super Hero, Sex Symbol, Buddy, and Salty Veteran/ Curmudgeon). I’m the Villain type, and the book has given me some great ideas!
Hatcher’s book is a great example of a super fun read that also provides valuable career advice. The communication tips are excellent. There is an exhaustively detailed section on how to structure a presentation. Hatcher also covers verbal and non-verbal strategies. At the same time, there are entertainment analogies woven throughout, and there is even an exercise based on monologues from famous movies. You won’t feel like you’re reading a dry training manual even though you’re getting great training tips.
Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe
On the flip side, Rob Lowe’s Stories I Only Tell My Friends (St. Martin’s Griffin, 2012) is an autobiography and not at all an advice book. It was fascinating to read a first-hand account of movies from my tween and teen years (the chapter on The Outsiders really brought me back). Yet, there are career lessons to be gleaned amongst the intrigue and insider view of Hollywood. When Lowe writes about his preparation for The West Wing auditions, I wanted to hold that example up for my job seeking clients on how exhaustively they should prepare for their own job interviews. Reading about the difficulties that Lowe encountered – personal and professional – and what support and strategies he used to persevere are inspirational and informative even for the non-actor (even an A-list celebrity has low points!). The choices that he made in the roles he pursued (e.g., not always the highest paying), the way he took advantage of lucky breaks, and the way he created opportunities for himself are lessons for any professional navigating today’s up-and-down job market.
Celebrity, Inc. by Jo Piazza
I covered Celebrity, Inc. by Jo Piazza in an earlier post: 10 Career Lessons From Celebrities That Apply To You And Me. This book is the ultimate melding of entertainment and career, and the subtitle summarizes it completely: How Famous People Make Money. Here you can read about Taylor Hicks, former American Idol winner, and how he bounced back after being “laid off” by his record label. You can see that good general career habits matter in celebrity career management as well: a consistent personal brand (Charlie Sheen); strong work ethic (Kim Kardashian, yes, not a typo); market flexibility (Ashton Kutcher). You’ll also learn the importance of income diversification with almost every celebrity story covered.
Who says you can’t have fun while working on your career? If you love entertainment and pop culture, these 3 books will give you your celebrity fix and professional development.

"'Kim's way more beautiful than I am talented." Kanye West at their wedding

If he's the King of egos, then she's the Queen of vanity.
But for once Kanye West played the doting courtier as he came out in full praise of his bride on Friday evening - and the setting could not have been more fitting.
The rapper gushed while celebrating a pre-wedding party in Versailles' iconic Hall Of Mirrors, which no doubt provided the happy pair ample opportunity to admire themselves.

According to US Weekly, Kanye spent the night gushing about his love for Kim. A source said: 'Kanye kept making the cutest remarks to her. He said, It's amazing to look around this room, there are so many talented people.'"
'Then Kim said, "And beautiful people."' Kanye replied, "Yeah, but Kim's way more beautiful than I am talented." It was so sweet - he said a couple adorable things like that. They seemed so happy.'
Lana del Rey supplied the entertainment at the opulent engagement party, taking the stage to serenade Kimye - upon Kanye's special request - with her song Young And Beautiful and went the extra mile by performing three songs in total.
Kim is said to be a 'huge fan' of the 27-year-old singer and Kanye hired an orchestra to play her hit Young And Beautiful when he proposed to the reality show star at the San Francisco AT&T park last October. The rapper then requested the singer to perform his bride-to-be's favourite song - which was made famous in the Leonardo DiCaprio film The Great Gatsby - at their lavish party in the Hall Of Mirrors.
Although, according to Entertainment Tonight, the Summertime Sadness artist was late to the event, forcing Kimye to take the stage and entertain their guests, even poking a bit of fun at Del Rey's tardiness.
Earlier that same day Lana was spotted rehearsing in the hallways of the Palace, preparing for her performance later that night.
'Best man' Jay Z and Beyonce were not thought to have been at the event but are still thought to be attending the wedding.

According to tmz the rapper hired controversial magician David Blaine who worked his way around the crowds performing tricks.
From inside the party Giancarlo Giammetti, the honorary president of the Valentino Fashion House, shared snaps of the happy couple as they took the stage to greet guests.
Giammetti also posted a family portrait of the bride-to-be with her mother Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie with the caption: Keeping up with a great family'.
The fashion maven even captured a rare moment with Kanye smiling as he gazed lovingly at his fiancee as they greeted guests within the Hall Of Mirrors.
Fireworks were said to have been fired off over the Palace grounds during Del Rey's performance as female musicians wearing Marie Antoinette-inspired frocks and wigs were seen preparing to perform.

Attendants at the fete wore baroque costumes, in keeping with the 18th century Palace, as ornate cakes were brought in, according to E! News, for the decadent wedding feast - that is reported to have featured wild salmon and a large salad buffet.
A source told tmz that there was no expense spared when it came to the food: 'It was all French stuff. Pretty much everything was truffled.' The site adds that the jars of caviar with blini were 'other-worldly.'
A Palace worker at Versailles told Entertainment Tonight that 1,000 bottles of rosé champagne was on hand for the 100 guests in attendance.
Party-goers were also given full access to roam the Chateau grounds, and even explore any of the many rooms in the Palace. Horse drawn carriages were also provided for attendees.
US Weekly reports that guests were greeted by men on horseback and handed a glass of Ace of Spades champagne, before being shown into the famous Hall of Mirrors, where an orchestra dressed in 17th-century ensembles sat underneath the chandeliers.
According to the insider, the baroque costumed workers at the Palace were given instructions not to speak to Kimye's guests, who were given free reign to enjoy the Palace's many delights.

Yes, I went on a cruise and loved it: Setting sail with Seabourn Odyssey

Setting sail with Seabourn Odyssey
Setting sail with Seabourn Odyssey
It's so hard to admit when you are wrong, in any situation. But, when you have to eat crow, you might as well do it while sipping champagne and ordering another tray of caviar to your room as you pass by the rocky hills of a Grecian coastline. Alright, maybe admitting I'm wrong isn't so hard after all. And, ladies and gents, I was wrong, oh so wrong, about the idea of cruises. And Seabourn Luxury Cruises have shown me the error of my ways. Yes, they were the ones serving the champagne and caviar to wash away my completely ridiculous preconceived notions about the idea of spending a week at sea.

Let me tell you what I would previously think of when someone mentions they were going on a cruise. I would conjure up an image of an overweight male, black socks pulled to his knees, white tennis shoes, khaki shorts, a Disney World t-shirt, fanny pack, camera dangling from his neck, ball cap on head and eyes in search of his next free margarita. Too harsh? Call it all those years of watching people get on and off 5,000+ people carriers in luxury destinations. The whole idea of stepping on a cruise ship struck fear in my heart. It was not my ideal situation whatsoever for world travel. But, then again I knew there would come a time when I would have to face my fear and write a review that would most likely not be positive. Again, so wrong, so oh very wrong.

Earlier this year I received the invite to step onboard the Seabourn Odyssey on an "at sea" adventure starting in Athens, Greece, and finishing in Venice, Italy. So far so good as the path the cruise would take sounded ideal. Then came the visit to the website. As I swiped through the photos on my iPhone I found myself wondering if all this was possible. There was an elegance to this ship. The food looked insane, probably because it's designed by chef Thomas Keller. He's a chef that currently holds seven Michelin stars for his restaurants around the globe. No small fries there (but his actual fries on the ship are insane, just saying). Then there were the suites. There are only suites to be found on a Seabourn ship and on the Odyssey there are only 225 suites on board, meaning a grand total of 450 guests are allowed to travel on the ship - a far cry from the mini cities I've seen that hold thousands of guests, crammed in like sardines. Each room is decorated to perfection (although I don't think the pictures on the website do them justice) and the descriptions of the staff's involvement in making your stay on board a dreamlike experience make this all sound too good to be true.

So, you know what I did? I said yes to the trip. I said yes preparing myself for the worst but hoping for the best. I packed my bag, prayed for good weather and hopped a flight to Athens.

The moment I stepped up to the boat I knew I was in for a pretty special experience. First of all, they had rolled out the red carpet. All surrounding cruise ships were without said accoutrement. Already winning, in my book, Seabourn. But, I couldn't let my glee escape so easily, I wasn't even to the suite yet. Straight into the lift we went and we were hurled upwards towards the seventh floor of our Seabourn ship. Our luggage was delivered separately. This would be the first of many times that I would learn that the staff on board wish for you to exert zero effort while in residence. Your vacation enjoyment is truly their life's blood. No joke. We walked into the room and my jaw dropped to the floor. As our eyes scanned the length of the very generously sized room we honed in on a bottle of fine champagne sitting on ice next to a tray of freshly sliced fruit. We immediately swung open the doors of our veranda, popped the cork and took in our surroundings. Just after the last sip of the first glass of champagne was consumed, our doorbell rang and in walked our "butler" for the trip. She was there to welcome us with more champagne and canapés, as well as some tips for enjoying our stay on board. She made it clear she was there to do anything possible to make sure this was a week we would never forget. I had been on board less than 20 minutes and I was already writing this story. I knew it had to begin by admitting I was wrong. Everything I thought I knew about cruises had been wrong. I had arrived in paradise.

Our first morning was miraculous. Truly. We couldn't have asked for a better wake up call. We slept with our shades pulled back so that we would wake with the sunlight, and as the rays pierced through the room our attention was called to a postcard worthy view of the town of Monemvasiam.  Breakfast was delivered to the room, by a lovely gentleman who suggested we take our meal on the veranda so we could enjoy the scenic view. He then proceeded to assemble a white tablecloth service for us in the aforementioned location. No problems there. After exploring the village early in the morning we made the decision to enjoy the ship's pleasures in the afternoon. Many of our days were spent in the same way, and we found this was the same for many of the other Seabourn cruisers. Each destination, along the way, offered a plethora of excursion opportunities, which we enjoyed on most mornings. They could run for three hours, or for an entire day in port, but each allowed for you to explore the area at leisure. So some days we just went into town on our own, exploring as we wished and returning when we saw fit. The tenders delivered you to and from the destinations on a regular basis and never once did we feel like we were left too long to stay and wait, a real luxury if you ask me.
Setting sail with Seabourn Odyssey
Setting sail with Seabourn Odyssey
But, back to the idea of being on the ship for a second, as I really think this is quite important. First of all, I had thought I'd want to be off the ship as much as possible throughout the trip. Quite the opposite was true. The pool area itself was heavenly and somehow always felt half empty. This is the magic of the Seabourn Odyssey. Even though you are on board with 450 fellow passengers, you never feel like you are all at the same place at the same time. The pool consistently felt private and the loungers always seemed to be free and open. There was never a scrum for space and the pace was that as it should be when one is on vacation - running at the speed of a snail. Well, for guests anyway. It seemed all staff members had been trained in the art of working at warp speed while appearing to be cool as cucumbers. I ordered a strawberry margarita on the first day, my first five minutes by the pool and was never allowed to as much as set up my towel without being asked if I'd like another. Now, this might sound invasive but I assure you it was anything but. The crew on board seem to specialize in knowing what you want before you do. While they always seem to be only a wave away, they are never overbearing. It's a perfect rhythm, that has no doubt taking years of practice to perfect.

Over the course of the next six days we swung our hips to traditional Greek music on a small olive farm, we swam off the island of Skorpios (an island once inhabited and made famous by Jackie O), we explored the beauty of Corfu, walked the famed streets of Dubrovnik, got lost in the tiny sea village of Primosten and left our hearts in the canals of Venice. Never before has seven days disappeared so quickly. On day five I began to understand why so many of the couples and families we met on board had booked in for 21 day adventures. Seven days is simply not enough.

That all being said, I don't know how I would have lasted 21 days eating the way I was. When I mentioned to anyone that I was going on a cruise, beforehand, the first words out of most people's mouths had to do with food. Everyone seemed to think that one had to be rolled off a cruise ship at the end of the week, and everyone was right. While even the most substandard cruises seem to drive people to eat an excessive amount of food, Seabourn takes things to another level. Have I mentioned that you can get champagne and caviar delivered anytime, anywhere on board? Have I also talked about the room service menu; the four restaurants on board, with culinary creations from a Michelin star chef; and the drinks service that seems to be open all hours and on any deck? There's even a coffee shop area on board, for those looking to emulate their local cafe mornings. That's where you'd find me nice and early every day as I caught up on work, sipping a latte, with a different view of an amazing destination at every sunrise. This was my dream desk and I'm wishing I was writing from it right now.

I truly feel I could go on to write a whole book with all I have to say about this experience. And everyone that has seen me since will agree. It seems to be all I talk about these days. I feel the need to share. Perhaps I'm writing the wrong blog. Maybe it's time to become an official cruiser. The only problem is, I started at the top with the true luxury standard in cruising. How do you do anything after that? But, I will say this. This is not my last time on board. In fact, I've already made a deal with the devil that is my American Express card and worked out a way to take a similar vacation, with the ones I love, once a year from here on out. I've truly never felt more spoiled, more at ease and more delighted with a choice of how to spend my life for one week. Don't let the preconceptions kill you on this, folks. Seabourn is one to try and the offering for possible designations is unrivaled.

Now, onto answering ten questions about cruising, specifically with Seabourn, from emails and tweets that I received over email when on board. Enquiring minds want to know...

  • "Who was on board? All older people?"

Admittedly, this wasn't a cruise that was overflowing with twenty-somethings. But you know what? I loved it. The whole experience was truly civilized and the people we met along the way were absolutely incredible. We met former captains of industry, a few famous faces from the entertainment industry and people from all over the world that simply shared a passion for travel. This was a sophisticated crowd, for sure. That being said, it was actually a younger looking crowd than I was prepared for, and my goodness were they all young at heart!

  • "Will I be bored on the ship and will I feel claustrophobic?"

Never and never. First of all, there is so much to do on the ship that you won't be able to do it all in seven days. For example, I didn't even know there was a casino or a second pool until our last night on board. Yup, it's that big and you are busy juggling shore and sea experiences. You simply can't do it all. And feeling claustrophobic is never an option. Sometimes you'll find spaces on the ship where there isn't a person in sight, it's just you and the waves below the cruise. I'm not sure how that happens with 450 people on board, but rest assured it does and you have plenty of space around you at all times.

  • "Is the entertainment cheesy?"

I have to admit this openly. I didn't take part in much of the entertainment. On the last night we went to the comedy club and it was pretty hilarious. We were joined by a crowd of about 50 and the cocktail service made sure that the jokes were even more comical. Two margaritas in and anyone's funny in my book. But really, I'm not the one to ask about entertainment. Most nights we sat on our verandas with books, listening to the world pass below us and watching out for twinkling lights on shorelines ahead. Many times we joked about feeling as if we were on our own yacht setting sail for unknown destinations. Certainly felt like it, and that was our best entertainment - none at all! We just relaxed.

  • "Was the room big enough for everything you brought on board for seven days?"

I knew this would be a question as I tend to pack like a crazy woman when it comes to exploring new ways of travel. I brought a lot with me as I had no idea what to pack for a cruise. I'll be writing more about this later. That being said, we had a walk-in closet in our room. A walk-in closet, people! I don't  even have that luxury in my house in London. But there it was, and we only half filled it between the two of us and I brought at least 14 outfit combinations with me, not to mention shoes, handbags, hats and much more. There was so much storage in the room we were still discovering it three days in. Basically, don't worry about space. Bring your whole closet, if the airline will allow.

  • "How did you sleep?"

Like a baby. We only had two nights where the seas were "rough"and that's a stretch to even say that. Never once did we feel seasick and the slow swaying of the ship at night seemed to rock us both to sleep. It was heaven and the beds were so comfortable! I'm not ashamed to admit we even took a few naps while on board. The beds were always calling. Hey, we're on holiday!

  • "How did you deal with being out of range with mobile service?"

There is wifi on board, ladies and gents, so don't worry. Now, a word about this. Seabourn do charge extra for this service and you can buy a week's package. But, here's my advice. While you can work on the ship, don't. The coffee shop is where you will find the best wifi on board, but why are you going to want to work while on vacation? I made the mistake of coming on the ship with a lot to do, thinking I could fit it in between activities. This was a pain and I regret it. It won't happen again. Get on board with the idea that your cruise is "you time," not "work time." Maybe take half an hour every night to send pictures home to loved ones or to post updates on social networks. The rest of the time lock that phone away in the safe.

  • "Is there shopping on board?"

There is and this isn't your average cruise shopping experience. Let's just say you can buy a diamond, a Rolex and a designer handbag. You can also buy sunscreen, snacks and local goods. Basically you are spoilt for choice. However, I do always recommend coming on board with the essentials and buying whatever else you need while exploring on your daily excursions.

  • "Who would you bring with you?"

Again, I'm going to go more into this in another post, as far as clothing is concerned. I will say there are a few things we forgot that didn't seem a problem. We forgot sunscreen, but there was always a staff member making the rounds on the pool deck offering up sun protection, so don't worry about that. I would say the only thing you might feel at a loss for not having is a great pair of walking shoes. Most important thing ever! Seriously, I'm telling you this because I was the idiot who didn't bring this essential piece of kit. Other than that, everything is "gettable" along the way.

  • "Is there anything you wish you would have done that you didn't get to while on board?"

The list is endless. Like I said, I believe seven days is just scratching the surface here. While we enjoyed the excursions while on the boat, we actually wish we had spent more time by the pool. I know it sounds ridiculous but we really only spent one afternoon laying in the sun by the pool and it was the most relaxing three hours of my life. In retrospect, we should have "scheduled" more of this in. And yes, you do find yourself scheduling to fit it all in. We also didn't get to eat in "Restaurant 2," the real "fancy pants" restaurant. Alright, maybe it's more appropriate to call this "supreme fine dining" as it really is. But, it's a reservations only restaurant and you need to get your night in the minute you get on the ship. We were put on the waiting list and sadly no one cancelled. Lesson learned. Make reservations!

  • "Will you go back? Was it worth the money?"

Yes and yes. I will most definitely go back and we are already looking at the Vietnam cruise with Seabourn. It looks like an epic adventure that must be had. Now about the money. I have to disclose, again, that I was invited on this trip by Seabourn. The means that I did not pay for this experience. But, we did some number crunching and figured out that there is no way on earth we could have recreated this holiday on our own for the same amount of money - nowhere near. The amount of locations you visit, the experience offered on board, the food, the champagne, the service - it's pretty priceless but most certainly cannot be recreated elsewhere. At the end of the day, I have walked away from a review trip and already decided to invest my own money in making this a regular holiday with loved ones. This is the first time I have done that. I write about travel for a living and usually try to fill my books with new experiences that can be written about. I've finally found my holiday where I can escape, relax, enjoy the people most special to me in my daily life and leave the rest of the world behind. That's why I'm so excited to share this whole experience with you, dear reader, as I feel I've discovered a world I was sure wasn't for me. Oh how wrong I was.

I do hope you'll have a look over at Seabourn Cruises, to see what's on offer in 2017 for destinations and explorations. And who knows, maybe I'll run into you on board next year? Fancy a margarita and a sunset over the coast of Greece? Meet you on the top deck. The caviar will be waiting.

For those of you that don't follow FFG on instagram, I did share the entire Instastories experience and made into a quick video. Just gives an additional look at a pretty amazing experience:

Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West welcomed guests to their pre-wedding celebration in the iconic Hall Of Mirrors

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West kicked off their wedding weekend in France at the Palace of Versailles on Friday, ahead of their nuptials on Saturday.
The couple - collectively known as Kimye - welcomed guests to their pre-wedding celebration in the iconic Hall Of Mirrors, which no doubt provided the guests and the happy pair ample opportunity to admire themselves.
Lana del Rey supplied the entertainment at the opulent engagement party, taking the stage to serenade Kimye - upon Kanye's special request - with her song Young And Beautiful.

According to the insider, the baroque costumed workers at the Palace were given instructions not to speak to Kimye's guests, who were given free reign to enjoy the Palace's many delights.

The soon to be married pair also announced to their guests that the wedding would be in Italy the next day, ET reports. Although, Kanye got a bit more exact saying that the destination was in Florence, which got a rise out of Kim as she playfully explained that her fiance was only supposed to say Italy and not the specific city.

Earlier that day, the couple were spotted leaving their Parisian residence to make their way to the pre-wedding celebration at the Louis XIV estate.
Kim, 33, showcased her cleavage by strategically positioning the lapels of her Maison Martin Margiela white tuxedo jacket dress over each boob.
Kanye, 36, also showed off much of his chest in a low cut T-shirt under his suit as they made their way to their first stop in what is set to be a whirlwind weekend of parties and celebrations spanning Paris and Florence, Italy.
However, onlookers would never guess from their stony impressions that this couple are preparing for the happiest day of their lives in just 24 hours, with speculation about the ceremony is at fever pitch, with rumours circulating that the guest list has blown out to now include 600 people, the amount who attended Friday's bash, according to People.

KIMYE'S WEDDING TIMELINE

FRIDAY: Kim, Kanye and family enjoyed a pre-wedding brunch hosted by designer Valentino Garavani at his home Chateau de Wideville, the magnificent French residence where King Louis XIV used to keep a mistress. On Friday night, the couple hosted a glamorous party with close friends including music producer Rick Rubin and 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen at their first-choice wedding venue the Palace Of Versailles

SATURDAY: Palace Of Versailles had denied Kim and Kanye permission to marry at the famed former residence of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette so they have turned to their second choice; Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy.Guests are said to have 'no idea' how they will get between Paris and Florence or even where they will stay on Saturday night after the ceremony

SUNDAY:The party are thought to be getting out of the romantic city of Florence and heading to a villa six miles out of town, called Corsini Villa of Costello
Kim pursed her lips and did not even crack a smile as she made her way to a waiting car, although she may simply have been concentrating on ensuring her gravity defying dress stayed in position.
No doubt plenty of double sided tape was involved in order for her to wear the ensemble and it’s unlikely Kim will be showing off her dance moves at the party if she wants to keep her ensemble in place.
Maison Martin Margiela tweeted a picture of Kim and Kanye in their outfits and wrote: 'Congratulations Kanye and Kim. We are really glad to be part of your special day. Wishing you all the happiness in the world. MMM'.
Kanye first introduced his bride-to-be to Maison Martin Margiela back in 2006.
Speaking about boots Kanye bought her from the avant-garde French fashion house, Kim previously said: 'I was like, "What’s Margiela?" back then.'
Kim’s white outfit was also slashed to her upper thigh, ensuring that guests could see almost every inch of her body which has undergone a dramatic 50lbs weight loss since the birth of her first daughter last year.
She opted for very unbridal make-up, despite her white outfit.
Dramatic black eye-liner and lashings of mascara made her eyes pop while her bronzer and blusher – along with her pursed expression – combined to show off her cheekbones.
Kanye left the residence with his default expression firmly in place, looking no happier than Kim.
And he wasn't letting his fiancee 's cleavage get all of the attention, showing off his own pecs with a very low cut grey T-shirt under his tan suit.
A gold chain also drew the eye to his chest.
There was no sign of their baby daughter North West, who was no doubt sound asleep so she will be on her best behaviour for her parents’ big day on Saturday.
Preparations had been underway all day at the famous Palace of Versailles for the private bash with their close family and friends.
Catherine Pegard, president of the Palace of Versailles, previously said it just 'wasn't possible' for the couple to wed at the palace, even though it was their first choice but revealed their plans for the Friday night bash.
Ms Pegard said in a statement: 'Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have decided to visit the Chateau of Versailles with their guests in a private surprise tour organised for Friday, May 23rd, on the eve of their marriage.'
However, there is still speculation that they could in fact marry at the palace.
If not, second choice and the site of their reception in either case is the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, which they have rented out for the weekend.

There is one main entrance to the Florence fort - which will be cordoned off from the public from noon tomorrow, security sources suggested. The first guests on the guest list are expected to arrive at 2pm.
Barriers and 'no entry' signs were delivered to the entrance throughout the day. Signage had already been put up this evening at another side entrance warning the public the area was closed.
Scores of confused tourists approached security guards throughout the day - only to be told the fort was closed 'for a music and entertainment event'.
The security presence also increased during the afternoon. Meanwhile, sound checks took place  - but no specific songs were played, keeping the identity of those performing at the event a close secret.
A crane could be seen lifting in large amount of wood, perhaps for the stage, at one point in the afternoon, while work men busily rushed about the area.
A temporary, nude-coloured partition, stationed in front of unsightly generators, was also put up near to the entrance of the fort.
Food catering vans arrived at the venue. One contained cuisine from Spain and another was a gellato van. However, it's rumoured three Michelin star chef Giorgio Pinchiorr may be behind the menu.
Meanwhile, a huge arch was erected in front of the Palace Of Versailles on Friday and truck loads of flowers were spotted arriving all day.

Other guests included Lindsay May Palevsky, the daughter-in-law of multi-millionaire LA philanthropist Max Palevsky, who died in 2010. (She’s married to his son Jonathan.)
Aaron Michaelson, one of the owners of the Chicago White Sox, Tracey Mills, a designer at Kanye's fashion label and Jerry Lorenzo, who designs Kanye's favourite brand Fear Of God, also made the cut.

PALACE OF VERSAILLES: A HISTORY

The Palace of Versailles was famously the home of Louis XIV and his wife Marie Antoinette.
Marie was and still is distinguished for her frivolity and perhaps best known for suggesting 'let them eat cake' when she was told her subjects were dying of hunger because they had no bread.
Located in Île-de-France around 20 kilometres southwest of Paris, Versailles was a rural village when the famous chateau was built.
When Louis XIV moved there from the French capital in 1682, it became the centre of political power in France.
The court remained this way until October 1789, when the royal family had to return to Paris after the French revolution began.
The chateau is nowadays one of the biggest tourist attractions in France, but is still used for some political affairs.
In the palace’s Hall Of Mirrors, Heads of state are regaled, while the Sénat and the Assemblée nationale make amendments to the French Constitution when they meet in congress in Versailles.
According to People, 600 guests - although Entertainment Tonight estimates 100 guests - arrived for the pre-wedding dinner in 90 vehicles. Guests had to pass through two checkpoints at the palace before they were allowed access to the bash, while hundreds of fans queued for hours to catch a glimpse of Kanye - who arrived at a side gate in a porsche - and Kim.
The sky over the palace was reportedly made a NO-FLY ZONE on Friday, but according to TMZ, it is uncertain if the order was given because of Kim and Kanye's presence.
Also spotted in Paris was singer Lana del Rey, who has supposedly been asked by the happy couple to sing her song Young And Beautiful.
Kim and Kanye weren't the only ones who pulled out all the stops for the glamorous occasion.
Younger sisters Khloe Kardashian, 29, and 18-year-old Kendall Jenner were styled to perfection as they prepared to celebrate at the royal venue.
Leaving their Parisian hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Kendall showed off her fantastic figure in a simple navy silk sheath, which featured a small train.
Like Kim's dress it was slashed to her upper thigh to show off her toned pins and a pair of heeled gladiator sandals completed the look.
The dress featured spaghetti straps and Kendall opted for just a small clutch to complete the look.
She left her long dark hair loose around her shoulders and, like Kim, chose dramatic eye make-up.
Khloe’s gown was more ostentatious than Kendall's, an embellished floor length kaftan which was slashed almost to her navel.

The estranged wife of basketball player Lamar Odom styled her Ombre hair in loose curls around her shoulders and carried a gold clutch bag.
While usually only the bride can wear white, Kim's older sister Kourtney, 35, opted for a white trousersuit with a ruffled peplum jacket.
She was accompanied by her partner, and the father of her two children, Scott Disick, who looked dapper in a dark suit, white shirt and sunglasses.
Sporting designer stubble, handsome Scott showed no signs of jet lag despite flying in after the rest of the family.

AS KIM BANS KUWTK CAMERA, WILL FANS GET TO SEE WEDDING SNAPS?

While Kim's second marriage - to Kris Humphries in 2011 - was televised on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kimye have decided to keep their nuptials private.
Kim tweeted: 'We are not filming our wedding for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. You will see everything leading up til and maybe even photos. As much as we would love to share these memories, privacy is our main priority.'
The couple have turned down offers of up to $1 million for their wedding photos despite a bidding war.
According to the Daily Star they have issuing a contract which 'bans guests from uploading anything on social media, taking pictures and even talking about the big day with friends and family who weren't invited to the wedding'.
They are currently in talks with Anna Wintour to feature the nuptials in an upcoming issue of US Vogue.
Kim and Kanye covered Vogue earlier this year leading to around 250,000 sales - about 20 percent more from the previous issue featuring Rihanna.
Kim's stepfather Bruce - who will walk her down the aisle at her third wedding just as he did for her ill-fated second in 2011 to Kris Humphries - appeared to be in high spirits as he got in a car to zoom off to the palace.
While preparations were underway for the party at Versailles earlier in the day, the family was enjoying a pre-wedding brunch hosted by designer Valentino.
They spent the day at the magnificent French home where King Louis XIV used to keep a mistress, called Chateau de Wideville, a 17th Century residence to the west of Paris.
The brunch venue is now the home of the fashion designer Valentino Garavani who was 'absolutely thrilled' to welcome the wedding party.
Police and other security officials could on Friday morning be seen securing its main gate and perimeter wall and fresh flowers were also delivered.
All eyes were on bride-to-be Kim as she made her way to her luxurious pre-wedding brunch with her family in tow.
The reality star was pictured pushing baby North, 11 months, in her stroller as set off for the brunch flanked by fiancé Kanye  and her mother, Kris Jenner to head to the lavish event.
Kim and Kanye originally wanted to get married at the nearby Palace of Versailles, where Louis lived but permission was refused - they will take guests on a guided tour at the venue instead.
‘Both of them think the French chateaus are awesome,’ said one of the US organisers of Thursday’s festivities at Wideville. ‘They love all that old fashioned style – they think it’s really classy.
Kanye - who Kim has previously called a perfectionist - has taken charge of most of the details in order to surprise Kim, according to TMZ, and is doing everything he can to stop her from finding out what he has in store including trying to keep her away from her phone and the internet.
While Kim was busy with bachelorette parties, pre-wedding brunches and final dress fittings, her 'groomzilla' was thought to be working day and night on the final touches for the big day with venues in both Paris and Florence being prepped.
Guests are said to have have 'no idea' how they will get between the France and Italy or even where they will stay on Saturday night after the ceremony.

Kanye announced last month that he has postponed his Australian tour to finish work on his new studio album, but it has been claimed he actually called it off in order to work on wedding plans.
His concert dates Down Under were pushed from May 2 to May 11 to September 5 to September 15 later this year.
A statement on Ticketek's website read: 'Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia.'

Wedding singer: Lana Del Rey shared this image of herself rehearsing for the ceremony after she originally turned down Kanye's request to perform while he proposed

But the move has led many to speculate on social media sites that the postponement could be more due to the fact he needed that time to help prepare for his wedding day, rumored to be May 24, in Paris.
'Kanye West postponed tour cuz he’s a control freak and needs to stay and oversee the minutia of the wedding,' @TAndre6 said on Twitter.
While @oliviajc wrote: 'Everyone calm down about the Kanye shows being postponed. Y’all know this means the Royal Wedding is about to happen, a small price to pay.'
And @EastAfricaChild added, 'I feel bad for [his Australian fans]. Kanye’s on wedding mode.'
And a source told Radar that Kanye has taken the reins and the plans have now gotten 'out of control.'
'It’s just insane. Kanye has basically billed it as breaking the boundaries of what to expect when it comes to a wedding. This will be the event of the year,' the source continued. 'Think fashion runway, stage show performance. Think avant grade. Think nothing like you’ve ever seen.'

‘WHAT’S MARGIELA?’:KIM'S DRESS DESIGNER REVEALED (BUT SHE'D NEVER HEARD OF IT UNTIL SHE MET KANYE)

by Tamara Abraham, US Femail Editor

That bride should be blushing: Kim Karadashian wears a low cut tuxedo jacket dress as she and Kanye West step out for dinner
Making an entrance: Kim made sure she was centre of attention in her Maison Martin Margiela gown

Kim Kardashian certainly made an entrance this evening when she arrived at her pre-wedding dinner in that sculptural Maison Martin Margiela gown.
The reality star was likely having her final fitting when fans spotted her and Kanye yesterday at the Belgian label’s Paris showroom.
But while the label has been operating since 1988, it was still a foreign name to her in 2008 when Kanye presented her with a pair of Margiela boots as a gift.
She admits in the April edition of Vogue: ‘I was like, “What’s Margiela?” back then.’Of course any fashion lover worth their couture will know that the famously reclusive Martin Margiela is one of Belgium’s most famous fashion exports.
His avant garde designs reject the typical tenets of luxury fashion and instead embrace unlined edges, recycled materials and any manner of repurposed items.
Even the most dedicated of fashionistas would struggle to identify the man though. He refuses all publicity, communication is handled only by fax, his staff are clad in lab coats and even his label is a mere square piece of cloth marked with the numbers 0 to 23.
The Maison Martin Margiela brand was sold to Diesel owner Renzo Rosso in 2002, and in 2009 it was officially announced that Mr Margiela had left the business. The label continues to thrive nonetheless. This week actress Marion Cotillard wore a heavily embellished creation by the label at Cannes, and yesterday it launched its second collection for Converse.
