The ambiguous trailer begins with images of Mila and James chatting and laughing and appearing to be very much in love.
They exchange a quick peck on the lips as she utters what seems to be the tail end of a joke.
She then says 'you get distracted easily' as James appears to struggle while seated at a typewriter.

The phrase 'When it seems you have it all' flashes on the screen as happy images of James and Mila and their young son flash by.
'But
your past won't let you go' is shown as it seems to flashback to an
earlier time as we see Jessica Chastain and a boy that alludes to it
being the younger version of Franco's character.
The boy walks around a wooded area, holds hands with a girl and swims in front of his mother.
