Arsenal are
set to beat Chelsea to the signing of German international Sami Khedira
from Real Madrid with Spanish newspapers reporting that a £23million
deal has already been agreed.
According to Sport, Khedira will sign a four-year deal at the Emirates after it emerged that Chelsea were also interested in the 27-year-old.
Contract
talks between Khedira's representatives and Real Madrid broke down and they are now set to sell rather than let him go for free
next summer.

Arsenal
have already splashed £30million to bring Chile international Alexis
Sanchez to north London from Barcelona, and are on the verge of signing
Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle.
Chelsea
boss Jose Mourinho worked with Khedira during his reign at Real Madrid
and the Portuguese manager is keen on the defensive midfielder but looks
set to miss out.
Khedira
missed out on the World Cup final on Sunday night after he injured
himself in the warm-up before Germany beat Argentina 1-0 at the
Maracana.
