Zooey Deschanel goes completely make-up free as she shares selfie shortly after rolling out of bed

She can usually be seen accentuating her porcelain skin with black eyeliner and a vibrant shade of lipstick on.

But Zooey Deschanel wanted to show her fans a more au naturel look.

The 34-year-old star shared a make-up free selfie with her 5.55million followers on Twitter early Saturday.

In the image the New Girl star appears to have just rolled out of bed and captioned it: 'Good morning! #nomakeup #nofilter.'

Even without her usual glamorous look, Zooey looked fresh-faced as she showcased her natural beauty.

She donned a long sleeved retro-styled shirt with 'French kissing in the U.S.A.' printed on it as she held her white and gold iPhone 5s up for the snap.

Her signature dark locks seemed to be put in a messy bun as her hair was all over the place.

Fans of the 500 Days Of Summer surely enjoyed the picture as the post already had nearly 4,00 retweets and been favourited almost 15,000 times in just two hours of it being posted.

On Monday, Zooey was seen in one of her chic looks as she posed on the red carpet in New York at the FOX Upfronts event.

The Elf star was all done up in a white long-sleeve frock at the gala held annually to woo advertisers to buy television airtime.

Though the dress covered up most of her skin up top, the short skirt helped to show off her svelte legs.

The actress wore her dark locks down into waves and wore natural, complementary make-up topped off by red lipstick.

The third season finale of Zooey's popular FOX sitcom New Girl aired just over a week and a half ago and she already has a few projects to work on.

She was recently cast in the the film drama The Driftless Area that also stars 25-year-old actor Anton Yelchin, best known for portraying Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboot.
