to put the upcoming Wimbeledon tournament ahead of his nuptials.
The Serbian tennis star was allegedly going to tie the knot to his long-time girlfriend Jelena Ristic this weekend in Montenegro but it’s reported that he changed his mind at the last minute.
Guests such as Sarah Ferguson, Richard Branson, Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova and more were rumoured to be attending the ceremony but they will now have to reschedule their plans.
The wedding will reportedly now go ahead on the first weekend after the tennis tournament finishes in July.
Djokovic is hoping to bounce back from his dramatic French Open defeat against Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who put an emphatic end to his Grand Slam hopes during Sunday’s final at Roland Garros in Paris.
Pulling himself out of the Mediterranean on Thursday afternoon, the defeated tennis seemed to be enjoying what’s proving to be a therapeutic break on Balearic party island Ibiza.
The
27-year-old Serb is currently recovering from his exertions at the
French Open with a boisterous lads holiday, and the Spanish sun had
clearly worked its magic on the sportsman during a day of cruising on a
small boat.
Accompanied by a gang of shirtless chums, Djokovic was in good cheer as he peeled off his T-shirt and dived into the ocean – where he promptly showed off his butterfly stroke.
Sporting a pair of blue swimming shorts, the tennis player revealed a nicely toned upper body that he proceeded to display after re-joining his pals on the boat for some friendly banter.
The holiday may well have been part of a stag do for the tennis player, after he got engaged to his Jelena last September.
