Cate Blanchett pulls off unusual space-age feathered dress premiere of Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine

And Cate Blanchett has once again proved that she can wear anything and still look good.

The 44-year-old donned an unusual pink Balenciaga dress to the premiere of Woody Allen's new film Blue Jasmine at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York on Monday night.

The Oscar winner looked regal in the high fashion outfit, which featured white feathers on the skirt and a top section that billowed in the front before reaching the floor in the back.

Cate paired the pale pink ensemble with matching heels and kept her jewellery minimal, save for glamorous diamond earrings.

She wore her blonde hair in an elegant updo and kept her makeup fresh and rosy, opting for smokey eyes and a generous dusting of blusher.

Cate plays Jasmine, once incredibly wealthy and a firm member of New York's high society, now broke after her marriage to Hal (Alec Baldwin) ends and she forced to move in with her working class sister in San Francisco.

The star has received rave reviews for her nuanced performance, with the Huffington Post calling her turn as a jilted Wall Street wife 'dazzling'.

Joining Cate at the premiere was costar Alec, who was accompanited by his very pregnant wife Hilaria.

She wore her black hair in a simple straight style and highlighted her eyes with thick black liner.
