The Great Gatsby star Joel Edgerton shows off his muscular physique as he goes shirtless for an early morning swim

With a co-star like Leonardo DiCaprio, The Great Gatsby actor Joel Edgerton didn't have much chance of standing out as eye candy in Baz Luhrmann's recent film.
But the 39-year-old actor certainly didn't have that problem as he went shirtless on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, earlier this month.
Joel showed off his impressive muscular physique as he made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed the warm water.

The Australian actor was seen wrapping a towel around his waist after emerging from the sea, later putting on a grey tank top as he prepared to head home from the day on the beach.
Joel has gone from relative unknown to causing a stir in the movie industry his films this year.
After making a name for himself in Gavin O'Connor's 2011 drama Warrior, Joel subsequently landed a series of high-profile gigs including The Great Gatsby and The Odd Life of Timothy Green alongside Jennifer Garner.

He was also cast in western Jane Got a Gun opposite Natalie Portman and will take a starring role in Jeff Nichols' sci-fi film Midnight Special.
And it was reported this week that Joel is in the middle of talks to join upcoming movie Exodus, playing Egyptian ruler Ramses alongside Christian Bale's prophet Moses in Ridley Scott's biblical epic.
Scott has been planning the project for a while, but things fell into place earlier this year when Steve Zaillian signed on to rewrite Adam Cooper and Bill Collage's original draft, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Peter Chernin, who bought the project as a pitch, will act as producer alongside Prometheus helmer Scott.
Production is expected to begin on the 20th Century Fox movie in September, with filming taking place in Spain, Morocco and England.
Exodus is one of two Moses films in development, alongside Gods and Kings, which Steven Spielberg recently dropped out of directing.
