Ruffle some feathers in a beautiful embellished gown

Nothing embodies Italian fashion quite like a dress by Roberto Cavalli. So it was more than apt that Naomi Campbell, Rita Ora and Elizabeth Hurley should be wearing his designs are the launch of the V&A’s lastest exhibition: The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014.

One of the key pieces in his AW14 collection, this sartorial masterpiece features a flapper-style silk shift, finished with sequins at the hem and a flourish of colour-popping feathers. The risqué plunging neckline was covered with a sophisticated fur collar, and the look accented with mismatched bangles. This is a dress that was most certainly made for dancing.
A feather embellished shift dress is the epitome of vintage luxury. Not only does it look as good as it feels, you are sure to stand out at any evening event. Unfortunately, designer looks come with designer price tags and this hand-finished dress certainly won’t come cheap. But we've rounded up our favourite feathered gowns available (below) for a budget-friendly take on the look.
