Ariana Grande goes for effortless Sixties chic in a white sequin minidress and thigh-high boots at New York carnival

She was making her mark on stage in honour of Born Free Africa, which campaigns to end the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children.
And Ariana Grande ensured all eyes were well and truly on her as she donned a sexy retro-inspired outfit at the Mother's Day Family Carnival on Sunday.

The 20-year-old singer paraded her slim figure in a crochet minidress and PVC platform boots as she performed on stage at the Hudson River Park Pier in New York.

Strutting around on stage, and tossing her long locks in the afternoon sunshine, Ariana's performance was received to rapturous applause.

The singer herself was clearly delighted at the enthusiastic welcome and took to twitter to express her gratitude writing: 'What an honour to sing and what an honor meeting Anna Wintour today. She is stunning & gracious.'

Indeed, Ariana has been touting something of a monochrome Sixties theme over the weekend opting for a crop top and high-waisted mini skirt at the Wango Tango concert, hosted by the Los Angeles-based radio station 102.7 KIIS FM.

Made of PVC, the ensemble perfectly coordinated with her sexy boots, one black and one white.

For a playful vibe, Ariana let her straight locks flow down but pinned them on top.

And she donned minimal make-up, but sported cat-eye liner to go with her retro theme.

But the Sam & Cat star didn't just impress with her clothing choices and proved she knows how to entertain a crowd by showing off her booty-shaking dance skills as she belted out her songs.

It was hosted by Ryan Seacrest and held at the Stubhub Centre in the Carson area of Los Angeles.

Major acts of the night included Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Iggy Azalea, Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris.
