Rihanna glams up in modest Chanel frock as she throws Mother's Day bash for her nearest and dearest in Malibu

After being spotted perusing possible new houses in Malibu on Saturday, it seems that Rihanna either found one or was taking one for a test drive as she threw a fun Mother's Day party for her nearest and dearest on Sunday.

The songstress played hostess to a small group of pals, including bestie Melissa Forde, congregating on the outside patio that was bathed in sunshine on the warm spring day.

The Barbadian beauty was looking lovely as she covered up for a change in a modest black Chanel dress with frilly layered skirt featuring large white polka-dot print containing the famed interlocking 'double C' logo.

She donned silver strappy stilettos that matched her collection of several layered silver necklaces.

Her long jet-black locks were worn in a sleek, smooth style, while she was made up to the nines with plenty of complementary cosmetics.

Her eyes were brought out with smoky shadow and lashings of mascara, while her skin was golden and glowing, her look completed with a slick of matte red lipstick on her naturally plump pout.

The mansion, which appeared to be high up in the hills with a picturesque view, was nicely decorated with huge colourful floral arrangements in celebration of the gathering.

And a celebration it was, with the 26-year-old carrying what appeared to be a champagne cocktail with her throughout the duration of the bash.

Taking to Twitter to commemorate the occasion, she posted a sweet message to mom Monica along with a photo.

'Queen doe. I am to she what she is to me, ERRTHANG!!! I love you gra!! Mother's Day everyday!!! #Mommy #MamaFentz,' she tweeted her more than 35 million followers.

After giving a pretty blonde a tour around the sprawling property, RiRi was then seen being filmed
by a videographer as the pair chatted down in the garden, next to a large chicken coop.

While it's not known if Rihanna is in the process of purchasing that particular Malibu mansion or simply borrowed/hired it for the day, she has been scouting the area in recent weeks after listing
her Pacific Palisades home for sale in late March.

The Diamonds hitmaker is reportedly asking for $14.995 million for the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom, almost 10,000 square-foot residence, according to AOL.
