Her
transition from BBC Breakfast staple to ITV golden girl has been
stuttering at best, but presenter Susanna Reid took her mind off
plummeting ratings with a quiet stroll close to her South London home on
Friday.
The
43-year-old is currently co-presenting Good Morning Britain with Ben
Shepherd, the glossy replacement for doomed breakfast show Daybreak.
But
while viewers are familiar with her glamorous TV appearance, she was
dressed down and make-up free as she strolled on a bright, sunny day in
the capital.
Out and about: Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid enjoyed a quiet stroll in South London on Friday
Susanna
had bravely opted for a double denim look in a jacket and skinny jeans
following a brief shopping trip, and she matched the ensemble with a
blue and white striped top and nude flats.
Opting
to pull her dark locks away from her face, attention was drawn to the
bubbly presenter’s distinct lack of make-up – a marked difference to her
immaculate appearance on the Good Morning Britain sofa.
Susanna’s
new role has been undermined by a worrying drop in viewing figures,
with just 339,000 tuning in for the Bank Holiday Monday edition – almost
50% down the 800,000 it attracted for its launch on April 28.
True blue: There was a definite theme as TV presenter Susanna ventured out close to her South London home
All change: Susanna as viewers are used to seeing her on Good Morning Britain (L) and make-up free in South London (R)
Looking good: But Susanna Reid and Ben Shepherd's new breakfast show has been undermined by plummeting ratings
She
was also ordered to leave entertainer Freddie Starr’s home during a
taped interview after she asked him whether his behaviour during a
career spanning some 50-years could have been 'misrepresented’ as sexual
abuse.
Last
week the 71-year-old was released from bail more than 18 months after
his first arrest for sex offences, an ordeal which left him suicidal and
a physical wreck.
Susanna
and partner Dominic Cotton, the father of her three sons, separated in
February, but speaking in March she admitted they were still on good
terms.
