Blaise Matuidi gave the French champions the lead after just three minutes with a well worked goal.
But then it was time for Ibrahimovic to take centre stage.
His first came from the penalty spot after Emir Spahic bundled over Ezequiel Lavezzi and the Swedish striker made no mistake from 12-yards.
His second – and PSG’s third – was far more spectacular as he let fly a fierce left foot shot from the edge of the area which flew past Bernd Leno and into the top corner.
Things got worse for Leverkusen in the second half after Spahic was shown a second yellow card and given his marching orders.
And with minutes remaining Yohan Cabaye grabbed his first goal in the Champions League for PSG with a shot from the edge of the area.
More to follow…
