Anna Wintour proclaims Benedict Cumberbatch was the only one who 'nailed' the white tie theme at this year's Met Gala

Benedict Cumberbatch was the only attendee at this year's Met Gala who 'nailed' the white tie theme, according to the main organiser of the event, Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Anna sat with fellow guest Sarah Jessica Parker (and co-chair of the event) and revealed the evening had raised $12 million for the Metropolitan Musuem of Art where it was held.
Anna pointed out that this was a record in the 16 years that the event has been running, which has now raised a total of $125 million.

Talking about this year's theme of white tie, which Seth pointed out was a lot harder for men to get right, Anna said she chose it 'because we felt it would reflect the theme of the exhibition of Charles James, the designer' who primarily worked in the 50s when men did still wear white ties.
'Women traditionally have to spend so much time thinking about what they are going to wear and we felt it was finally time to turn the tables,' she added.
'I had no idea into how much panic this would make the men of New York and all over the world think about their outfits,' she continued.

'The most amusing email I had was from Tom Ford who dressed many of the most handsome men there on Monday night,' she revealed.
'He said he had not only had hundreds of men coming in and asking him to explain white tie meant, they were very confused by decorations.
'There were a couple who said, 'Did this mean Christmas tree decoration or ornaments and could Tom Ford please pick them out.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's surprisingly tasteful wedding invitation revealed

It's the summons we've all been waiting for.
And while only the privileged few will have received an actual copy, now we can all now have a good look at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's luxe wedding invitiation.
The surprisingly tasteful invite is printed on expensive grey matte card, with embossed gold writing.
Check it out: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding invitiation has been revealed

The card tells guests 'The honour of your presence is requested at the marriage of Kim Kardashian to Kanye West.'
The date is spelt out - 'Saturday, the twenty-fourth of May, two thousand and fourteen'.
And guests are tantalisingly told 'details upon arrival.'
While there have been plenty of reports speculating about the luxury KimYe's guests can expect at their wedding, nothing has been officially confirmed.
The invite offers few clues, stating the location as simply 'Paris, France'.

Guests need black tie for the day's events, and must also pack cocktail attire for a dinner on the Friday evening.
The invitation made waves all over the Internet on Friday, with fans and blogs all posting the invitation and speculating about Kim's big day.
While the guest list is top secret, there has been whispers as to whether Jay Z and Beyonce will attend.
For while talented Jay Z is a close friend and collaborator with Kanye, his wife is known to be uncomfortable with 33-year-old Kim's life as a reality star.
However, unlike Kim's last wedding, the list is said to be relatively restrained, at around 100 guests.
The plain but stylish invite is in stark contrast to Kim's last one.

Lauren Goodger posts copycat belfie in the style of Kim Kardashian's famous swimsuit snap

It's fair to say that Lauren Goodger is feeling pretty body confident at the moment, as she proved when she posted a revealing belfie snap on Friday.
The reality star, 28, treated her fans to the sexy image in which she wears a black thong leotard which shows off her curvy assets as she sits on a velvet pouffé.
The now deleted snap was shared with her 1.24million followers and very much resembles the now famous photo that Kim Kardashian posted of herself while wearing a racy white swimming costume.

Lauren is a huge fan of the American reality star and once told Closer magazine that she and her sisters, Nicola and Rianna would love a show of their own to rival the US TV family.
Lauren told the magazine: 'You’d get to see a different side, the real us – doing what we want to do with no schedules.'
Nicola, who starred in series two and three of TOWIE, also told the magazine:

'TOWIE’s a lot more staged, they set up scenarios. With Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you see everything. It would be nice to let people know we’re normal. We have hangovers!
Earlier this month, Lauren was slated by her ex, Mark Wright who asked her to stop mentioning him in interviews.
He wrote: 'Please leave me out of your public conversations, stop embarrassing yourself. Start having some respect and MOVE ON. @laurengoodger.'

'Sometimes it's important for your team-mates to give you confidence and I think they're some of the best team-mates you can have.
'I tried to do my best this year and I think it was my best season so far. I felt really good and confident. I will try to do the same for next season.'
Wayne Rooney was awarded the Goal of the Season award for his 60-yard wonder-strike against West Ham at Upton Park in March.
The stunning effort, which brought back memories of David Beckham's long-range effort against Wimbledon in 1996, polled 58 per cent of the vote to beat Patrica Evra's goal at Bayern Munich.
Rooney said: 'It was a goal that I am really pleased with, I do think David Beckham's was a bit better, but I was happy to score.
