BALMAIN x H&M dress
BALMAIN x H&M boots
DIOR pearl earrings
MONICA VINADER rings

It’s. Finally. Here. The much anticipated, hyped, highly craved Balmain collection for H&M. I had the privilege to be part of the legendary launch in NYC a few nights ago, where a star studded show was polished off with Backstreet Boys performance (Hello sweet teenage years and most of all NICK). No one was left dry (literally) in their seats that night! We then had a chance to shop the full collection a full 15 days before the official launch come early November. So on to the garments, that we’ve gotten a good sneak peak of in the press already, I have to admit I was blown away by the quality of the (hand-beaded, yes) dresses that H&M managed to produce up to a couture-like finish.

Followed by the determination that at least one of the beaded dresses had to be mine, I chose between the long pearl jacket (surely the most recognizable piece from the collection) the black and white embellished dress that weighed probably ten kilos and the one worn by yours truly. Hard to say which dress is the strongest piece, of course there is also the coloured ones but if you are going to splurge on the collection, make your choice a beaded one, they are worth every penny. This black and gold one retails for £399 ($649) and is a little bit more forgiving with it’s slightly stretchy velvet but don’t expect to be able to bend down, sit down (see all-round detailing) or breath. However, I would not even sell it for even double the price, which would already be an option on eBay.

The collection, which is by far my favorite H&M collaboration to date will hit stores on the 5th of November. Be ready, I’m not done yet.

I have to admit I'm a bit of a die hard fan of hers. She always manages to produce such a gorgeously laid back collection with just the right level of detail so you still feel you're wearing something really special. I've put together a little collage so you can see what other pieces I have in my wardrobe this season...
