We won't interfere in players selection, we are not making money from friendlies- NFF

The NFF Secretary General Sanusi Mohammed has stressed that the Football Federation will not interfere with the affairs of the coaches and also revealed they won't be making any financial gain from the Super Eagles friendlies slated for this month end and June.

Nigeria will meet fellow West Africans, Mali at the Stade Robert Diochon in Rouen, in France on May 27 before facing Luxembourg in Luxembourg City on June 1 at a venue yet to be finalised.
The friendly games are organised to prepare the Eagles when the African qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup resume in October and the NFF through it's Secretary General have said they will support the coaches in every way possible and not interfere with players' selection so that the Super Eagles will have the best possible preparation ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
“The NFF will not in any way interfere in players selection for the World Cup qualifiers. Our mission is to assist the coaches in rebuilding a formidable Super Eagles… this is why we have organised warm up games for the team. The logistics needed to select the best available players has also been put in place to help the coaches,”  NFF Secretary General, Dr linSanusi Mohammed said during a press briefing.
When asked why the NFF won't be making any money from the friendly fixtures which will be played away from home, Sanusi said;
“It is not about the money. Everything we are doing is for national benefit, “Sanusi said. “Every time you go to play a friendly match outside Nigeria, of course, you are showcasing Nigeria and its culture and at the same time, you are trying to build a team that Nigerians will be proud of”. Sanusi said to journalists as reported by ThisDay.
Luxembourg who Nigeria will play in one of the friendlies has no football pedigree and is the second least ranked European team in the world at a position of 146.

UK mosques ban Muslim women from wearing trousers, leaving home without husband's permission, orders them to close FB accts

Muslim women must not leave the house without their husband’s permission, should avoid wearing trousers and should even delete their Facebook accounts, according to rulings published by mosques and Islamic associations around Britain.

The Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham said that women were not allowed to wear trousers, even in front of their husbands, while the Central Masjid of Blackburn called Facebook a 'sin' and an 'evil'.
One Islamic organisation also stated that Muslim women should not leave the house without their husband's permission and should not travel more than 48miles without their husband.

An article entitled 'Dangers of Facebook' was published on the Central Masjid of Blackburn's website which stated that: 'Facebook has opened the doors for sin. Muslim girls and women alike have become prey to this evil.'
In a Q&A, one Muslim asked the Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham if women could wear jeans. Citing an Islamic scholar, the reply was that women were not permitted to wear trousers, even in front of their husband, as they show off 'the details of her body'.

A document written by a mufti at the Croydon Mosque and Islamic Centre, entitled 'Advice for the husband and wife', also stated: 'A woman should seek her husband's permission when leaving the house and should not do so without his knowledge.'
In another article, the mosque calls abortion 'a great sin' and describes acting and modelling as 'immoral acts'.

Read Buhari's remark at the signing of the 2016 budget into law

Buhari signed the 2016 budget into law today. Read his remark during the signing below
1. It gives me great pleasure today to sign the first full-year budget of this administration into law. I thank the leadership of the National Assembly, in particular, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and indeed all members of the National Assembly for their cooperation in making this a reality.
 2. The budget is intended to signpost a renewal of our commitment to restoring the budget as a serious article of faith with the Nigerian people. This Administration is committed to ensuring that henceforth the annual appropriation bill is presented to the National Assembly in time for the passage of the Act before the beginning of the fiscal year.

3. Through the 2016 budget, aptly titled "Budget of Change’’, the government seeks to fulfill its own side of the social contract. The Budget I have signed into law provides for aggregate expenditures of N6.06trn. Further details of the approved budget, as well as our Strategic Implementation Plan for the 2016 budget, will be provided by the Honourable Minister of Budget and National Planning.

4. I shall be speaking in more details about the Budget, its implementation and the over-all national economic and social policies of the Government in my address on May 29th, God willing.

5. In designing the 2016 budget, we made a deliberate choice to pursue an expansionary fiscal policy despite the huge decline in government revenues from crude oil exports. This is why we decided to enlarge the budget deficit at this time, to be financed principally through foreign and domestic borrowings. All borrowings will however be applied towards growth-enhancing capital expenditures.

6. The signing of the budget today will trigger concerted efforts to reflate the Nigerian economy, a key element of which is an immediate injection of N350bn into the economy by way of capital projects. To illustrate our renewed commitment to infrastructural development, the 2016 budget allocates over N200bn to road construction as against a paltry N18bn allocated for same purpose in the 2015 budget.

7. Despite the current difficulties we will work extra-hard to achieve our revenue projections. Our revenue generating agencies are coming under better management and are being re-oriented. The implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) is expected to contribute significantly to improving transparency over government revenues.

8. Our determined fight against corruption is resulting in improvements in the quality of public expenditure. The work of the Efficiency Unit, as well as other public financial management initiatives, are also contributing in this regard. The continuing efforts to reduce recurrent expenditures should hopefully free up more funds for capital expenditure in 2017 and beyond.

9. As I said in my New Year message, living in State House does not in any way alienate me from your daily struggles. I read the newspapers and listen to the TV and radio news. I hear your cries. I share your pains.

10. We are experiencing probably the toughest economic times in the history of our Nation. I want to commend the sacrifice, resilience and toughness of all Nigerians young and old who have despite the hardships continued to have hope and confidence of a great future for Nigerians. But permit me to say that this government is also like none other. We are absolutely committed to changing the structure of the Nigerian economy once and for all.

11.We are working night and day to diversify the economy so that we never again have to rely on one commodity to survive as a country. So that we can produce the food we eat, make our own textiles, produce most of the things we use. We intend to create the environment for our young peoples to be able to innovate and create jobs through technology.

12. I cannot promise you that this will be an easy journey, but in the interest of so much and so many we must tread this difficult path. I can assure you that this government you have freely elected will work with honesty and dedication, day and night to ensure that our country prospers and that the prosperity benefits all Nigerians. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria

2016 budget: Saraki assures Nigerians of adequate oversight

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has commended Nigerians for their patience while awaiting presidential assent to the 2016 Appropriation Act and promised that the National Assembly will ensure its proper implementation through diligent oversight.

Saraki who joined Speaker Yakubu Dogara and other top government officials in witnessing the signing of the budget into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, said the responsibility is now that of both the executive and the legislature to ensure that the objectives and goals of the budget are duly realized.

He called on ministers, heads of departments and agencies to hit the ground running with the implementation of the various provisions made in the budget so that the expectations of the people can be fulfilled.
"On our own part as members of the National Assembly, we will closely monitor the implementation of the budget by providing effective oversight. We will also ensure that all necessary laws that will aid the transformation of the contents of the budget into practical policies, projects and programmes that will directly have positive impact on Nigerians will be put in place. That is why we have started the amendment of the Public Procurement Act to ensure that a substantial percentage of the money to be spent in the budget are made available to Nigerians through government patronage of Made-in-Nigeria goods and services."
The Senate President thanked Nigerians for their continued support for the present administration and promised that now that the budget has been signed into law people will start seeing the positive impact on the economy and their standard of living.

Saraki restated the National Assembly's commitment to early passage of subsequent budgets since the President had promised earlier presentation.

Is there anything you are believing God for ?

Prayer is the Master Key' may be cliché, but we are yet to see any key that can open every door, create amazing opportunities or overcome even the most insurmountable challenges, like prayer does. With prayer, all we can do is win!!!

Are you a woman; wounded, reproached, shamed, suffered great loss, pained, in sorrow, disappointed, failed, perplexed and troubled on all sides? Is everything and anything around you falling apart or seem to be falling apart? You may or may not have done anything wrong dear child and daughter of the most High God.
The obvious truth is that a man born of a woman is of few days yet full of trouble ‘WHY’ life is just 'battle personified'.
Come and let us confront every of our confrontations and the devil will be put to shame again and again. The devil hates it when we pray, so too bad for him, we will be taking it all to the Lord in prayer.
We believe that when women come together there is exceptional grace, miracles, Salvation, deliverances, open doors and what have you in every area of our lives.
We all need plenty of help as individuals, families, Nigerians and the World as a whole, whatever affects a woman affects everything and anything.
Women are  just unique and God is very passionate about them and even made no secret of it in His earthly  , they get to every detail, persistent and fearless and will never  take 'No' for an answer.

Why not join a host of other women at The King’s Court, 3, Keystone Bank Crescent, Off Adeyemo Alakija St. Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday May 13th from 5.00pm to 8pm and Saturday May 14th from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
