He has already changed his stage name twice in his career, confusingly ditching 'Puff Daddy' for the more simple moniker 'P.Diddy' back in 2001.
But now, after streamlining yet again to the simpler 'Diddy' nine years ago, Sean Combs is returning to the name which made him famous.
What's more, the 44-year-old rapper rather confusingly claimed on Tuesday that he never changed his name, and has was always in fact, Puff Daddy.

Video: A Four Seasons Safari

Yes, yes, I've written about the whole experience of the Four Seasons Serengeti, and I still do believe that sometimes I'm able to capture in words so much more than I can capture in video. But for this experience, I think seeing things in motion is just as important as reading my love letter to one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.

Over the course of four days, I captured over 2 hours of video clips. Two hours, people! I narrowed it down to a half hour video, then a twenty minute video and then finally a four minute moment, with three extra minutes devoted to snapchat recaps. The result goes a little something like this...

Presenting the Four Seasons Serengeti Safari Experience:

'I'm truly sorry': Ashley Benson apologises for poking fun at mentally troubled Amanda Bynes after sparking controversy with Instagram picture

She sparked controversy on Wednesday when she poked fun at Amanda Bynes with an Instagram picture imitating the mentally troubled actress.
And the angry response was enough to push Ashley Benson to repent.
The 23-year-old actress took to her Twitter on Thursday to apologise for mocking her peer, who is currently being treated for 'severe mental illness' in hospital after setting a fire in someone's driveway.

'Truly sorry': Ashley Benson apologised on Thursday after sparking controversy for poking fun at mentally troubled actress Amanda Bynes on Wednesday with this Instagram picture
The Pretty Little Liars Star wrote, 'To clear up the whole Instagram thing. I had no idea what her situation was. Truly sorry if I offended anyone'.
She followed up a few minutes later with the message: 'Love you guys'.
Ashley drew criticism after she posted a picture showing her closing one eye, while pouting at the camera, in a clear reference to one of Amanda's now signature poses.
She accompanied the picture with the caption: 'Doing my Amanda Bynes look this afternoon'.
Ashley has since deleted the post.

Amanda, 27, was first seen pulling the pose when she posted a bizarre video of herself getting ready for a night out back in April.
However, while some of Ashley's fans found her copycat image entertaining, others were quick to criticise the star for referencing Amanda's mental trauma.
One of Ashley's Instagram followers wrote: 'That's so not nice to make fun if her like that with everything she is going through!'
While another added: 'Shame on your for bullying someone who is mentally ill.'
Others suggested that Bynes, who is known for calling people 'ugly' on Twitter when they have chosen to criticise her, will next target Ashley.
SomeoNe wrote: 'You better watch out. She might call you "ugly" next.'
And another of Ashley's followers wrote: 'OMG HAHAHAHA WATCH OUT GURL AMANDAS GONNA GETCHA :OOO.'
After a months-long downward spiral, Amanda was finally hospitalised on Tuesday after igniting a gas tank in a Thousand Oaks resident's driveway.
The former child star is currently being held under a 5150 hold for mental health evaluation.
Doctors at her psychiatric centre have made an initial assessment that the actress is suffering from 'schizophrenic tendencies', according to website TMZ.
It was reported on Wednesday that Bynes' parents, Rick and Lynn, will head to court on Friday in Ventura County, California to request temporary conservatorship of their daughter.
As the actress' erratic behavior worsens, her parents believe she is unable to look after herself both personally and financially, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
'Rick and Lynn will appear before the judge on Friday to ask for a temporary conservatorship of their daughter, Amanda,' a source told the news site.

'Her parents will both be petitioning to be the temporary proposed conservators, and want control of her personal and financial affairs.'
In California, 'the proposed conservator must show that the conservatee is unable to care for themselves, and is a danger to others,' the source added.
Amanda's parents 'are hopeful that the judge will take into consideration that she tried to start a fire in a stranger’s driveway, and burned her pants in the process.
'Her behavior is completely unpredictable, and she needs long term mental health help,' the source said.

Psy's "Hangover:" Challenging Asian American and African American Relations

Psy's "Gangnam Style" took the world by storm two years ago. His song broke the Guinness World Record to become the first video to reach a billion views. Soon his song and dance style became a global phenomenon. People viewed his videos, parodied his act, and imitated his dance. His world-wide success led him to his next song, "Gentleman" which also broke records for the most views in 24 hours as it became the most widely viewed video on the day of its release. On June 8, 2014, Psy released his new song, "Hangover" featuring Snoop Dogg. Hangover is now the most K-pop watched video in America and around the world.

Psy will always be famous for his "Gangnam Style" monster hit, but his latest hit and collaboration with Snoop Dogg, "Hangover" could have an even greater impact particularly on African American and Korean American relations.

"Hangover" has Psy's signature upbeat music and funky dance moves. It has funny, interesting party scenes of drinking and getting wasted. Psy and Snoop Dogg rap about the night before --reflecting on how much they drank and how they now both have hangovers. The two musically reminisce about the good times they had, singing and drinking with Asian women at a karaoke bar, riding on a boat, visiting an amusement park and playing pool together. They have a good time as Psy and Snoop Dogg dance, sing, eat, drink, and party throughout the video.

This song and music video is significant for both the Asian American and African American communities. Psy could have collaborated with any American singer but chose to do it with Snoop Dogg, an African American. This pairing is important in light of historic tensions between Asian Americans and African Americans, and the lack of collaboration, work, and interaction between these two racialized groups. It also conjures up the collaboration between Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder and their duet, "Ebony and Ivory".

The present collaboration could be understood as a metaphor for African American and Asian American relations. It could be viewed as wanting change or doing things differently in relations between the groups.

When Asians first immigrated to this country, they experienced racism and lived in their own ethnic enclaves much as the Jews, Italians, or Irish established island communities in the cities, while the Scandinavians established communities in the north central farmlands. Asian Americans lived in communities where they worked for each other and worshipped in churches together. The movement to live within the broader American context began later in the 1960s and 1970s in the American rush to the suburbs. As a result Asian Americans and African Americans did not routinely mix or interact until the 1970s.

As the two groups began interacting with each other, tension and difficulties often filled the relationships. The 1992 Los Angeles Riots following the acquittal of the police officers who beat Rodney King is an example of the tension and conflict that can often occur between various minorities groups. Korean Americans in Los Angeles refer to this event as "Sa-I-Gu" meaning "4-29" which indicates the date the riots began. By far the greater amount of violence was between African-Americans and the police, California National Guard, and the 7th Infantry Division (regular Army). However this incident created a burden for many Korean Americans as it emphasized their minority and subordinate status within the larger American society.

Korean American citizens and shop owners did not receive as much protection as the lives and property of other nationalities. Therefore, some Korean Americans policed their own streets with some of the same firearms carried by the rioters, police, and troops. It deepened an enormous pain in their individual and communal identity. Tensions still exist today. A recent meme discussed in the root, portrays strains which still persist between these two communities.

A Western divide and rule concept between these two racialized groups pits one community against the other. Eruptions do occur and when they do, they need to be addressed quickly. Otherwise, the tension between the groups will continue to build. Unless this cycle of tension is broken, the two groups will continue to have uncomfortable feelings against each other. These uncomfortable feelings can erupt into more physical conflict.

In Korea, the term han describes "unjust suffering" or the experience of the deep pain that comes from "piercing of the heart". The suffering which happens to those who are racialized, discriminated against, and subjugated is one example of han. Han is further experienced in the tension that builds within and between the groups. In order to address the tension and move forward together, steps must be taken to release the han.

The first important step is to be "aware" of the problem. The two racial groups must acknowledge the tension existing between them. Secondly a "commitment" must occur that each will take steps to release such tension. Third, an "engagement" needs to take place so that each group will fully participate in working towards reconciliation, understanding and friendship.

Too often today Asian American and African Americans view each other with suspicion. Asian Americans and African Americans experience racism directed from the white dominant culture, but we also feel racial tension between themselves. This arises, in part, because we do not have good modes of communication between the two groups, we have little in common aside from our marginality, and we see each other as in a competition for status within the world of white domination. There has really not been any incentive for either group to initiate dialogue between the groups. Without much dialogue and discussion, it becomes difficult to address the strained relationships that often exist between these two groups. Due to this difficulty, it is important to open up and have a good dialogue between the two groups. Building bridges needs to be a central aspect to releasing tension.

Through the wonderful prism of pop-culture, two icons collaborating on a song may be a symbol for Asian American and African American relationship. By collaborating they go beyond the stereotypical characters that our detractors would like us to be. Getting to know each other, with all the challenges this may present, will only be beneficial for both groups. Or else, we will only be the characters that the dominant hegemony forces us to be.

"Hangover" is more than a catchy song. Psy's collaboration with Snoop Dogg is a step towards achieving good relations between Asian Americans and African Americans as these two musicians share a song and dance style new to both cultures. In Psy's video, the two are able to have a good time together. They hang out together throughout the night. Each scene reveals that two very different people can co-exist, intersect, and enjoy each other's company.

"Hangover" may be the first collaboration between Asian American and African American headliners. Until now, there has been no prototype of cooperation between the two groups. The collaboration between Psy and Snoop Dogg, provides an example to begin the important dialogue of talking about racial tensions and begin a conversation between these two racial narratives. Such collaborations need to continue. Anything that releases racial tensions is a plus in my book. Only as we ease tension between these two racialized groups can we live freely and fully together without han.

Al-Qaeda liquid bomb plotter asks European court to free him - because publicity over 'suicide video' infringed his human rights

Appeal: Abdulla Ahmed Ali, mastermind of the 'liquid bomb plot', has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights for his life sentence to be overturned.
Appeal: Abdulla Ahmed Ali, mastermind of the 'liquid bomb plot', has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights for his life sentence to be overturned.
The mastermind behind the 'liquid bomb plot', one of the most deadly terrorist plans ever to be unearthed in Britain, is making a bid to have his conviction overturned on human rights grounds.
Abdulla Ahmed Ali developed a home-made hydrogen peroxide bomb that could be disguised as a soft drink and taken on board a plane.
He and a group of associates planned to take the bombs aboard seven flights.
The discovery of his suicide plan in 2006 led to urgent changes to international restrictions on carrying fluids on to planes.
However, the al-Qaeda terrorist now claims his human rights were infringed by publicity before he was convicted for life for conspiracy to murder - and has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights.
He argues that the jury would have been prejudiced by coverage of a previous trial.
Although the Strasbourg court does not hold the power to quash the conviction, it would be extremely problematic for the Government if they ruled in the terrorist's favour.
If Ali wins his case it would allow him and fellow plotters to begin an attempt in British to have their convictions quashed, using the European ruling to convince judges that their convictions were not fair.
Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, Chris Grayling, the Justice Secretary, said the case highlighted why there was an urgent need for reform to human rights laws.
'Suicide video': Ali and his associates posted a video that boasted of his airline bomb plot, which would have seen the group attempt to smuggle the bombs on to seven trans-Atlantic flights
'Suicide video': Ali and his associates posted a video that boasted of his airline bomb plot, which would have seen the group attempt to smuggle the bombs on to seven flights

He also the case was evidence that the Strasbourg court was increasingly willing to interfere in Britain's justice system.
'This yet a further example of why things cannot go on as they are', he said.
'It is unacceptable to have a situation in which claims to the European Court of Human Rights are actually being used to undermine our justice system.
'Our justice system is one of the best in the world and the Strasbourg court has no business telling us how to run it.'
Although British judges at the Court of Appeal have ruled the case deserve a hearing, the European Court has examined Ali's application.
It has allowed it through the first stage of consideration for a full hearing, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
His case has been adjourned because more information was needed.

PREVIOUS CASES THROWN OUT

Tanvir Hussain
Appeal: Co-conspirator Tanvir Hussain
Four of Ali's co-conspirators have attempted to take cases to Strasbourg.

However, so far they have all been thrown out.

In three of the cases it was because their lawyers made a mistake and missed appeal deadlines.
The fourth case was submitted several months late.
The applications by Tanvir Hussain, jailed for at least 32 years; Umar Islam, jailed for a minimum of 22 years and Ibrahim Savant, jailed for at least 20 years, were ruled inadmissible by the Strasbourg judges.
Representing the men, and responsible for the last appeal papers, were Tuckers Solicitors.
Duncan Lewis Solicitors, the lawyers for Waheed Zaman, serving a minimum of 20 years, also submitted the papers late.
Eight men were convicted for their involvement in the plot to blow up aircraft with liquid bombs after three trials.
The government has now been asked by judges in Europe to answer a series of questions about Ali's prosecution.
They said they wish to establish whether he had a 'fair trial by an impartial tribunal' as required under Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Ali, now 33, was convicted of conspiracy to endanger the safety of an aircraft in his first trial in 2008.
However, the jury was unable to reach a verdict on a charge of conspiracy to murder.
He was therefore re-trialled at Woolwich Crown Court, London, in September 2009.
There he was convicted of both charges and jailed for life -  with a minimum term of 40 years.
'Adverse publicity' generated by the media between his 2008 trial and his retrial a year later is the reason Ali claims his human rights were breached.
During the trials, it was revealed how Ali and a group of associates recorded 'suicide videos' at a flat in Walthamstow, east London.
The videos revealed his plot to bring down airliners with bombs smuggled in soft drink containers.
During the footage it was said the was intended to 'teach a lesson' that non-Muslims 'will never forget'.
Ali singled out seven flights to San Francisco, Toronto, Montreal, Washington, New York and Chicago that departed within two-and-a-half hours of each other and said his group would taken the explosives on board.
If successful, the explosions could have exceeded the carnage of the September 11 attacks.
When Ali was arrested he had a computer memory stick in his pocket that highlighted seven flights from London to North American cities that were each carrying hundreds of passengers and crew.
Security sources believed the group were also planning a further attack involving 18 suicide bombers which could have killed 5,000 people in the air and the same number on the ground.
At the time it was revealed that the men had gathered enough chemicals to make 20 liquid bombs.
Investigating and prosecuting the conspiracy has already cost the taxpayer more than £100million and Ali's legal challenge will push the bill higher.

See Chrissy Teigen Give Zero F---ks About Super Bowl Nip Slip (Photos & Video)
It's been 13 years since Janet Jackson's nipple rocked the Super Bowl in 2004, and now another wardrobe malfunction is making headlines thanks to Chrissy Teigen.
While Teigen and her husband John Legend looked comfortable in their box seats at Sunday night's game between the Patriots and the Falcons, Chrissy was rocking a NSFTV sheer top that left little to the imagination.

After the camera cut to the two in the stands, a fan re-posted the shot on Twitter, zooming in on her exposed bits with the message, "ummmmm the press box ain't save you." (Video below)
An unfazed Teigen then re-tweeted the video, captioning it, "boom goes the dynamite."

She followed up that message by live tweeting the game with a series of videos, including one of her eating pizza during the "25th quarter" of the game ... and another saying "things are happening" as the game started to turn in the Patriots' favor.

Kanye West calls out a fan for buying a fake pair of his Air Yeezy sneaker designs

One Kanye West fan has been left broken-hearted after the singer called him out for buying a fake pair of his Air Yeezy sneaker designs on Monday in Paris.
The fan had approached Mr West to sign the shoes outside of a café where he had been lunching with Kim Kardashian. Never one to exercise subtlety, Mr West said of the sneakers: ‘These are not real though, you know that, right?’
The fan, who had likely paid hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, for the rare sneakers couldn’t believe it, saying: ‘Are you serious?’

Mr West, 36, graciously responded, ‘These are not real, it’s fine though,’ and signed them regardless.
‘Damn, broke my heart,’ the duped fan said as Mr West loaded into a car with the help of a security entourage, where fiancé Ms Kardashian was waiting.
While the fan’s identity remains unknown, a video of their interaction was posted to Instagram by a female French Kimye fan named Dodo, whose account appears to be something of a dedicated fan page to the couple.
Mr West began designing Air Yeezys in collaboration with Nike in 2007. He spent two years working on development with the brand before officially releasing the style in 2009.

But before they came out, Mr West created buzz for the style by debuting them on stage at the 2008 Grammy Awards during his performance of Stronger and Hey Mama.
The $215 sneakers, named for Mr West’s ‘Yeezy’ nickname, sold out almost immediately, and those who missed out on the shoes in stores have been known to shell out up to $10,000 for a pair on reselling sites like eBay - creating an opportune environment for counterfeiters.

Things I’ve Learnt Since Starting a Youtube Channel

Youtube is booming. It’s the place to be seen these days and audiences are flocking more and more to the online video sharing site. It’s currently where the industry seems to be going in my opinion. I’ve noticed a huge shift in the last two years with brands approaches to blogger outreach. Less and less am I asked for blog related collaborations, instead Im more often than not asked for two things- Instagram and Youtube videos. Not that I think blogging is dying I just see the online marketing market (?) shifting a bit.

For me starting a Youtube channel was much more daunting than starting my blog. I went into my blog blind, with no experience of outside view of the medium. I just did and didn’t think. However I’ve only been making videos consistently on my channel for about 2 years and I still feel like I’ve not quite found the place I want to be in. I’ve gained a great bunch of subscribers and made some awesome videos which Im SO proud of. But being a Youtube comes with its own set of problems that are unique to that platform.

Always have backups
Memory cards and batteries. Its a weekly occurrence for me that I sit down to film and bam I have half a battery and I just KNOW it won’t last. Same goes for memory cards. Im forever having to delete stuff off the cuff because Im filming and don’t leave enough space. Picking up a few batteries and memory cards as well as a hard drive are are an absolute must if you’re getting into Youtube! I got some off Amazon for super cheap and they work really well. If you’re really into it then maybe get a AC adaptor for your camera to avoid batteries running out ruining your filming zen!

People are picky
I’ve never had anyone openly critique the way I run my blog. I’ve never had anyone tell me this is wrong or they didn’t like the way I did a post within the comments. Where as on Youtube I don’t think a video goes by where Im told the way I made the video wasn’t right or how they wanted it to be. I don’t really know why this is the case but I’ve just noticed that people tend to critique (critique being the operative word here, not hate) the way you make things. I don’t know if it’s because Youtube has become a serious game changer and people expect a certain quality or what. I just find it very odd being told how I chose to make something is wrong!

It’s more personal
While blogs are personal to some degree I find Youtube to be incredibly different. Words don’t come out the same when you write them down as when you speak them out loud. You can say one thing and mean another. Unlike with blogging you can’t go back and clarify or change things if they don’t come out your. While editing is a life safer, if you fluff your lines too many times and you can’t use the footage the meaning of what you’re trying to say is lost. Vlogging is incredibly invasive and personal and I’ve had a lot of my friends not want to appear in my Vlogs because they don’t like the idea of people they don’t know seeing them online!

Editing does take ages
Same goes for Filming. While a standard video might be 10 minutes final edit, you might have anywhere between 30 to and hours worth of footage to go through and edit. But for example if Im filming a GRWM this would most likely take me 1-2 days to film and edit and these videos come out at about 3-4 minutes long. Straight up talking to camera videos can take about a day to finish and polish off (with breaks for tea and refreshments, obvi). I always seen people say “Youtube doesn’t take that long” but in reality I spend more time doing my channel compared to my blog because it’s simply a lot harder to do.

Warning All Bloggers and Video Makers!!!

2014-07-24-ScreenShot20140724at10.19.27AM.png

I have been writing blogs for about seven years now.

I used to use a lot of pictures to illustrate the points I wanted to make.

These were mostly images I found on the web.

If I was talking about a 'Revolution' in video, I might use a painting of the French Revolution.

There was so much stuff on the web. All I had to do was 'Google' image search and there were the choices.

It made the pieces nicer to look at, I thought.

Then, about a year ago, maybe a bit more, I got a big, fat letter from some lawyer. I was being sued for copyright infringement for using a picture without permission.

Well, needless to say, I took the offending picture down.

It didn't make a difference. I was being sued for $150,000. For my blog. For the picture on my blog.

(You will note that I don't have a picture up there today - and as far as I can tell, no one owns 'WARNING', at least not yet.)

When we run the 4-day video bootcamps (coming up in NY and London in September!), we devote an hour on the morning of the third day to a very in-depth lecture on rights and releases. I have to say that while this is probably not the most exciting lecture in the four days, it is without a doubt the most important.

That was proven yesterday when Michelle Phan, Youtube video star, was sued by Ultra Records, which has Kaskade, deadmaus and Calvin Harris as clients. (NB, I have never heard of any of these people, which just goes to show how old I am!)

In any event, it seems that Michelle was using their music for some of her videos, and without the permission of the publisher. (She had, ironically, the permission of the artist. Kaskade, who was nominated for a Grammy last year said he supporter her, but he has no legal standing here. The publisher, Ultra, owns the rights).

According to The BBC, Ultra is suing Michelle for $150,000 for each violation. There are apparently 50 violations. (for those of you bad with math, that comes out to $7.5 million. That's a lot of money! Even for a 'Youtube star.'

There is a generally held perception that the Internet is a digital free for all, open platform, do what you like world. Nothing could be further from the truth, (as this so clearly points out).

There is also a generally held perception that if you get caught using someone else's stuff, all you have to do is 'take it down.' I can tell you from personal experience (we settled out of court after much in the way of legal expenses), this is also not true.

So BE CAREFUL!

And, if you are really smart, take the 4-day bootcamp and take very careful notes on day 3 when Lisa gives you the lecture on rights and releases.

This is no joke!

Ruby Rose Explores Gender In Powerful New Video 'Break Free'

Model and DJ Ruby Rose has released an incredible short film that explores the fluidity of the way humans embody concepts of gender.

Called "Break Free," the video, released last week, is a powerful look at the ways that gender is performed and lived -- at least through a binary understanding of male/female.

Rose has since used the video's visibility to discuss other issues affecting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. On Friday she posted the following statement on her Facebook:

You know what needs to stop just as much as homophobia, bullying within the LGBT Community... A 'bisexual' isn't just greedy.. 'Pansexual' exists and isn't a cop out.. 'Straight' people can be gay huge advocates and blessings to the community... you can identify as trans without surgery, you can be gender fluid... in fact guess what... you can be whoever you are and like whoever you like and WE should spread the love and acceptance we constantly say we don't receive.

Check out the video for "Break Free" above.

Pixie Lott flashes the flesh in a daring monochrome bralet

Her new album is just months away from release, but Pixie Lott has taken a break from her current promotional campaign while she pays a visit to the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival with boyfriend Oliver Cheshire.
The 23-year-old singer caught the eye as she climbed aboard a sprawling yacht moored in the harbour on Saturday – not least because of her daring monochrome ensemble.
Pixie had opted to show off her slender torso in a zebra print bra-top – and little else – as she prepared for a Total Management and Mr. Porter luncheon.

The songstress matched it with a roomy black skirt, while her long flaxen locks remained partially hidden and well shaded beneath a wide brimmed hat that oozed retro seventies chic.
A pair of strappy sandals completed the look and gave Pixie’s ensemble an additional flash of colour as she posed for photos with handsome model Oliver shortly after arriving.
The couple appeared to be in high spirits on the day, with the singer sharing a joke with her beau as they sipped obligatory glasses of champagne.

Oliver cut a good-looking figure in a smart check shirt and chino trousers, with shades and a pair of slip-on loafers rounding things off.
Lunch meetings aside Pixie has good cause  to be in Cannes having wisely chosen the South of France as the  backdrop for her next music video.
On Wednesday morning she posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: 'Waiting for our flight to South of France to shoot the next vid'.

It appears that Pixie's new single is likely to be a big summer anthem and one that will hopefully do better than the album's lead single, Nasty, which peaked at #9 in the UK singles chart.
While the stylish starlet has never felt a pressure to dress a certain way to conform to industry standards, she recently explained that 60s icons Brigitte Bardot and Edie Sedgwick are her style heroines.
Speaking to the Daily Mail's YOU magazine, Pixie said: 'I’ve never felt pressured to dress a certain way. It’s tricky. I would never go to extremes.

'But I’ve definitely done videos that are more raunchy than others just because of what the song is about. I love everything about the 60s. I love Brigitte Bardot and Edie Sedgwick as style icons, I love the whole fashion from that era.
As for her personal life, Pixie has been dating Cheshire for three years now and they make their relationship work by staying in contact via Skype when she is working overseas.
The pop star insists though the two are still 'too young' to consider tying the knot anytime soon.
