David Moyes SACKED! Moyes is axed after face-to-face meeting with United chief Woodward as legend Giggs steps in until end of the season

David Moyes has been sacked by Manchester United with immediate effect.
Chief executive Ed Woodward arrived at Carrington at 8am on Tuesday morning to inform the Scot face-to-face of the news.
Moyes had already been informed of his fate and thanked club staff at the training complex in anticipation of his departure. The players were not present at the time.
A tweet on the club's official Twitter account read: 'BREAKING: Manchester United announces that David Moyes has left the club. The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role.'
Ryan Giggs will take temporary charge for the rest of the season as interim manager.
It emerged on Monday that United's owners, the Glazer family, had lost patience with Moyes after a dismal season that has seen the reigning Barclays Premier League champions slump to seventh in the table.
The final straw was Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton, their 11th in the Barclays Premier League this season, and a result that left the title holders 13 points off the Champions League places.

Kate and Wills arrive in the heart of Australia: Royal couple receive traditional Aboriginal welcome as they arrive at Uluru

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today took part in an Aborigine Welcome to Country ceremony at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.
After meeting elders from the Anangu people of Uluru, they gathered around a camp fire to watch the Inma ritual which incorporates traditional clapping sticks.
The ritual was the way the Anangu people formally acknowledged the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's arrival to their land.
Kate and William watched intently as dancers smeared with white paint performed in a ceremonial circle.

Speaking in Pitjantjatjara, the language of the Anangu, an elder explained the meaning of the dances which was then translated into English for Kate and William.
Catherine had made a wardrobe change from her arrival outfit into a Hobbs grey and white summer dress, sensibly ditching the heels for a pair of wedges, which in moments became caked in red dust.
A boy from the community presented the duke and duchess with a basket of Mala poo paper paintings - surely one of the tour's less likely gifts.
The couple appeared to enjoy the display, asking questions of their hosts and admiring their gifts, which also included a carved wooden (punu) shield.

Catherine spoke with a group of elderly Anangu women before moving to the fireside, the fragrant bloodwood smoke filing the small spectator area.
Loud laughter went up from Catherine when William made a joke about a wooden snake that sat near the fire.
At the end of the dance, the Duchess smiled and spoke with Adam Giles, the Northern territory Chief Minister and Australia’s first indigenous head of government.
At the Uluru Cultural Centre, Prince William and Kate chatted soccer, rugby union and mathematics in a relaxed and animated encounter with nine Northern Territory high school children from some of the most remote schools in Australia.

Suarez Ready to fire Liverpool to title as Reds jet out to Norwich

If Brendan Rodgers' message to his Liverpool players were to keep calm in the title race, his players were certainly listening to his advice as they prepared to take on Norwich.
Victor Moses and Raheem Sterling were spotted laughing and joking at the city airport as they made their way to Norfolk.
The Merseyside giants are edging towards a first Premier League title sitting two points ahead of Chelsea behind them.

Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard have been two of the major cogs in the operation, and the former was again carrying his customary flask, containing the South American drink 'mate'.
Rodgers has been insistent that his side are taking things one game at a time, but also stressed that he was confident Suarez could continue his goalscoring run against the relegation candidates.
Suarez scored four against the Canaries in December, and Rodgers said: 'He's been fantastic and will continue to be.'
The match at Carrow Road kicks off at midday on Sunday.

Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland: Advantage Liverpool as Blues suffer crucial defeat at the hands of relegation battling Black Cats

On the most astonishing evening of the entire season, Chelsea surrendered their lingering chance of the Premier League title, Jose Mourinho’s 77-game unbeaten home League streak and much of their self-respect.
When the Football Association come to review the shameful events at Stamford Bridge, the punishments will be spectacularly severe.
In the last few minutes of this extraordinary collision, one of the Chelsea coaches, Rui Faria, was dragged back by his hair by Mourinho as he attempted to attack referee Mike Dean.
Minutes earlier, Dean had awarded Sunderland the penalty which won them the match, and while replays reinforced the correctness of Dean’s decision, Chelsea’s anger was beyond all bounds.
Winner: Liverpool loanee Fabio Borini coolly slotted home the penalty to give Sunderland a vital three points

But that kick was rolled in by Fabio Borini, on loan from Liverpool, and the bottom side had beaten the team with designs on the title. The consequences for Chelsea will prove more savage than the mere loss of a football match.
The plot seemed to have taken a familiar form in the 12th minute, when Willian’s corner came whipping in from the left, hip-high. Samuel Eto’o reached out, snaked his leg around a nervous defender and produced a scoring shot of surprising power. Sunderland had not been bursting with confidence up to that point, but we now saw it draining away.
Sunderland were performing like a team expecting the worst. Their approach was apprehensive, with Connor Wickham asked to do an unreasonable task, marooned at the front and required to scamper hopefully after lost causes.
But the 17th minute brought totally unexpected equality. Seb Larsson’s left-wing corner was pulled way back to Marcos Alonso, who was in acres of space. He struck a strong, optimistic drive from upwards of 25 yards, which bounced in front of Mark Schwarzer and into the path of the willing Wickham, whose chip was delicately accurate. Schwarzer was starting his first game of the season, the result of Petr Cech suffering a minor ailment.
Sunderland’s confidence came surging back. True, Wickham was still left to fend for himself, but they were beginning to do themselves justice. Gus Poyet stood in his technical area, barking, frowning and fretting. Mourinho sat and brooded as the Chelsea build-up grew slower and more ponderous.

Give gingham a go in Jacqueline's Topshop trousers

When not on Albert Square, Jacqueline Jossa looks a world away from her alter ego. As she rubbed shoulders with glamorous ladies like Danielle Lloyd and Abi Clarke on the red carpet of the Locke premiere last night, she got it just right in gingham trousers and a bright white crop top.
If you associate gingham with the Wizard of Oz or your school days, then we’ve got news for you: it’s only gone and grown up! Gingham has been a thing for spring ever since designers such as Balmain and Meadham Kirchoff featured it in their runway shows. So of course, it is beginning to filter down onto the high street too.
Jacqueline's trousers are actually from Topshop, and you can buy them by clicking the link (right) now. They're also available in a pale blue hue, or Tall and Petite versions too. Decisions, decisions!
Or check out the other options we've found for you in the edit below. From Michael Kors to Miss Selfridge, we've got all budgets covered. Then style yours up Ă  la Jacqueline, or keep it cutesy in ankle socks and heels.

Toughen up your look in Saint Laurent's biker jeans

Alex Gerrard has some serious designer kit on today.
The queen of the WAGs was out and about doing a spot of shopping at the legendary Cricket store in Liverpool and she didn't stint on dressing up for the occasion. Her coat is Isabel Marant as are her wedge hi-tops, her bag is Givenchy and the jeans are Saint Laurent.
See what we mean? Serious style savvy right there. And those skinnies are something special, which would explain the price... they've got very cool leather biker details on the knee as well as stand out zips. And of course the label alone adds value.
If you've got a WAG sized budget then click the link (right) to buy these jeans now at Net-a-Porter. But if your clothes allowance is a bit more high street than high end then take a look at the moto skinnies we've found below.
Boohoo has a fantastic version for only £15 and check out Asos and Whistles too. Then style like Alex with wedge hi-tops for day, switching to heels for date night.

Toughen up your look with Rita's Balmain trousers

A pair of skinny leather trousers is a must-have wardrobe staple for any style maven. Although, coming in at well over £2000, we’re not so sure that Rita’s coveted Balmain bikers are quite what we had in mind.
Featuring quirky side pockets, gold fastenings and quilted leather panelling, these stand-out trousers are classic Balmain. Great for day and night-time wear, they will inject instant cool into any look (that’s if you can afford to wear them out of the house).
Team with a monochrome ensemble and sky high Louboutins for a chic outfit that Kate Moss would be proud of, or opt for bright separates and clashing accessories for a nineties inspired feel.
Luckily the high street has some great alternatives that won’t break the bank. For those of us on a tighter budget, faux leather is the way forward and these River Island skinnies are the ideal starting place. We are also totally in love with Zara's coated zip trousers (below).

Rock the red carpet in Danielle's tuxedo dress

As glamorous WAG Danielle Lloyd stepped out on the red carpet in Birmingham this evening, we couldn’t help but notice her eye-catching white and gold ensemble.
From her daring tuxedo dress to the towering gold platforms and her classic Saint Laurent shoulder bag, the 30-year-old certainly stole the limelight at the premiere of forthcoming film Locke.
Luckily, with pale shades back on our fashion radar, now is the perfect time to be investing in a crisp white dress for the summer weather.
It might have been bang on trend for AW13, but the practicalities of a white dress or skirt mean that wearing it was a careful balancing act, particularly when splashing through puddles and dodging the stormy weather.

But, with the weather hotting up, we no longer have an excuse not to invest in this trend. So, if you're keen to channel Danielle’s red carpet vibe for your next , click on the link to check out her exact look, by celebrity favourite The Dolls House. Or alternatively, shop our pick of the high street best for some icy inspiration.

Wrap up the regal way in the Duchess' dress

So far on this Royal Tour, the Duchess of Cambridge has been a resounding success in the style stakes. And today we feel like we've come full circle, as she wore a wrap dress not dissimilar to the MaxMara number she sported when she first arrived in Sydney.
This one is by Diane von Furstenberg and when paired with her favourite £245 Russell and Bromley wedges (this isn't their first outing!), Kate looked as chic as ever.
Wedges on the edge of a cliff might have been a bit of a risk, but this dress was a sartorial safe bet. 2014 marks the 40th anniversary of Diane von Furstenberg's iconic wrap dress and although over the years, hemlines have changed according to trends and prints have come and gone, the super flattering shape has stayed precisely the same.
A DVF dress doesn't mean keeping your figure under wraps - thanks to its waist-cinching abilities it can showcase your curves to perfection, albeit in a demure way. Of course, there are limited sizes left of the real wrap dress, so click (right) now to get your hands on it. But if you do miss out, there's a great version at Flannels that is reduced in the sale, or plenty of high street options too.

Give your spring wardrobe a royal makeover in white Broderie Anglaise

The Duchess of Cambridge may have been recycling a few looks while on her royal tour of New Zealand and Australia, but yesterday she not only wore something new, but it was also by an up and coming designer.
This lovely and very spring appropriate dress is by Australian label Zimmermann and we love it. We've been fans of this brand for a while now and although it's mainly known for its swimwear, Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, the design duo behind the label also create the most stunning ready-to-wear.
Unfortunately the dress is not available to buy but we've found a very similar look by Zimmermann at Net-a-Porter. Check it out below. It has the Broderie Anglaise of Kate's dress and will look gorgeous on a sunny spring day.
Or try one of the similar frocks we've spotted on the virtual high street. Jack Wills has a lovely option or save a bit of cash at Asos and Mango.
