FFG Beauty: Carol Joy Pure Collagen Spray is my travel bag must have!

This is a world's first, people: Pure collagen- in a bottle and ready to spray, throughout the day in times of dire need. Well, that's how I'm thinking about it anyway and "dire need" needs to happen at least half a dozen times a day. Too much? Well, not according to Carol Joy. So there, I'm not over doing it. Keeping 35 looking alive with this stuff! Or as my niece so accurately put it the other day - "how's your skin so soft, auntie em?" Yeah, that's showcasing results people. Or how about the boyfriend commenting on my cheeks feeling like silk. Mind out of the gutters, people. He's talking about the cheeks on my face.

So let's get into a bit of a back story here. Last month, Carol Joy invited me into The Dorchester for an afternoon of beauty. For those of you that don't know, Carol Joy are not only in charge of the hair salon at The Dorchester, they also provide an incredible facial experience for guests, using pure collagen and oxygen as their secret trick to leaving spa guests with flawless skin. I was invited in to experience both a facial and a hair treatment, and more or less asked to relax for four hours while a team of spa experts flitted about around me and transformed a rather London beaten women into someone who looks like she travels exclusively by Uber Lux. Oh who am kidding? If you can afford Uber Lux, you should have a driver. Ok, they transformed me into someone who would have a driver waiting outside The Dorchester... a driver in a Bentley. Yeah, I was feeling Bentley brilliant.

Of course I would say any treatment at The Dorchester is brilliant, because it's the Dorchester. They don't deliver anything in the inferior category - which is already a nod in Carol Joy's direction. To be taken in by The Dorchester as a luxury expert is akin to being labeled a God of the beauty realm. Let's just simplify it and say I knew I was in good hands. All products under the Carol Joy range lead to feeling your best. They don't promise to transform you, they just promise to enhance what you've already been given. It's quite brilliant actually. Even the facialist talked me through how certain moisturizers with the product line could really help me clear up some problem areas and bring out the glow in my skin that's been under London smog lock and key for some time (the moisturizing night cream and cleanser combo has totally transformed my skin surface into something quite remarkably smooth - definitely worth checking out).

But the real joy with Carol Joy is found in the new pure collagen range. From eye masks to pure collagen spray, this is a beauty first and a product line that already has beauty editors around the world all a flutter. But for me, it's the pure collagen spray that I'm really loving. It's like a skin refresher and now has a permanent place in my long haul flight bag (ok... time to admit that there's one there and one in my purse for test driving... which I ran out of pretty quickly as I was spraying all the time). You spray this bad boy and actually feel your face plump up to the occasion. I just feel refreshed and I'm loving every minute of it. Hence the reason it's made it onto FFG. Now, in full disclosure, I was gifted the collagen spray and it's not exactly something you'd buy at Boots. It's £100 a bottle. But, I've bought a bottle myself, after being gifted. I've put my own money into the pot and, to me, that's worth a recommend.

Carol Joy - thank you for being absolutely amazing at both hair and skin solutions. Ladies and gents, file in for a day of beauty with Carol Joy at The Dorchester or jump online and grab their hair and skin products to be delivered straight to your doorstep.

Where I Buy Prints From

Grand Budapest Print,  Leopard Flats Print, Checkmarks Print, It's Okay Print, Jacket Print,  Portrait Print, Triangle Print

Ever since I moved into my new flat all I've wanted to do is fill it with awesome artwork. It's actually something that I've dreamed of doing for years and years and was something that I was really excited about doing. As a bit of a Graphic Design and art nerd it was something that I knew was going to play a huge part of the decor going on in my flat. I like monochrome prints most of the time but I do have a few select coloured ones

Society 6
This is probably my favourite place to buy prints from. It's basically a website where artists can sell their work and get it printed on pretty much anything you can imagine. I have so many prints from there but some of the ones I've got are pictured above are linked. There is so much work on there it's really worth trawling through looking for the style and look you want. I currently have about $500 worth of prints in my basket at the moment waiting to be ordered! Be warned you will be charged customs on large orders, which is obviously dependant on how much you order. There are tons of online calculator to predict how much tax you might be charged though so it's worth factoring that into your budget.

Etsy
This is another place for artists to sell their work but this time it's purely stuff thats produced and sent by them. It's worth searching for printables too which (if you have a printer, obvz) you can print out at home to save you even more money. I search for things like "minimalist prints" "typography prints" or "XYZ (for example a film) prints". Stuff like that just pops up. It's worth browsing for sure!

& The Frames...
Pretty much all my frames are from Ikea. I personally like the Ikea Nyttja frames purely because they are lightweight. As they dont actually have glass so they are thin and light. Therefore attaching them to the wall with contact strips (I use these ones) or blutac works well and doesn't leave holes in the wall.

The definition of HOME: The South Carolina Lowcountry

So here's the constant dilemma at hand for the good ole fashion goose. I am a homebody - always have been, always will be. And the struggle I have, every time I'm home, in South Carolina, for longer than an hour, involves the question of returning. I've built a blog around travelling the globe, but I do believe at the backbone of FFG is London. It's where this all started. It's where friendships have been formed over the past decade, where I've become buddies with shop owners and even where I have places and people that I can seek out in times of need. It has taken on a role of adopted home for me and, as such, has become equally difficult to say goodbye to. I am a women stuck between two places. I am split in half in every moment of every waking day and it hurts. Yeah, sure it's all #firstworldproblem stuff. I totally get that. But truly, this is the year that a decision is made to stay or go. Now, this won't have any bearing on the blog's existence. I'll stick around to bug you with daily updates - but, those updates may just be more American soil based as of January 1. Nothing is ever permanent so I'm keeping an open mind about absolutely everything - the coming, the going, the coming back. I'm a lady in a constant state of flux. So in short, I hope you're enjoying this most tumultuous ride. And, as I was just home for a wee little stay, I thought I'd share a few pics to remind you of why I have such constant trouble in leaving this little heaven on earth. I give you the South Carolina Lowcountry. Maybe you'd like to weigh in on the decision after seeing these?

Let's kick off with my dad's famous pancakes, shall we?
 Shopping in downtown Beaufort...
This might help you get my vibe...
 Biking everywhere...
 Little dream cottages...
 A dock begging for tomfoolery!
 My coffee companion.
 This says it all...
 Sweet Iced Tea bars...
A typical breakfast. Ok, so my ass might grow exponentially going home!
Eyes like this that look up at me every time I'm home... saying "please don't leave again."
I've always said the hardest thing about living in the South is getting your iced tea from the kitchen to the front porch without spilling it!
Dogs are always there to greet you upon arrival....
Even the Snickers bars in this place seem to get me!
