Aberdeen told to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale... and Kris Boyd by nine-year-old fan Boyd Gibson

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale, Mario Balotelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are just some of the names Aberdeen should be looking at signing this summer, according to nine-year-old fan Boyd Gibson.
The youngster continues that Theo Walcott, Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Silva, Samuel Eto'o, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kaka and Kris Boyd should all be snapped up by Dons' boss Derek McInnes this summer as he looks to build on this season's third-placed Scottish Premiership finish and Scottish League Cup win.

Aberdeen posted Gibson's shopping list on their official Twitter account and claimed they would be passing on his thoughts to the manager.

Although the young fan's suggestions were shrugged off in a light-hearted way by the Scottish club, McInnes will already be hard at work looking at ways to add depth to his squad this summer.
After qualifying for the Europa League next season the Dons will play their opening fixture in the competition on July 3, while the World Cup is still ongoing.
A final day of the season defeat against Motherwell meant Aberdeen finished third in the Scottish Premiership and made them the earliest starting participants of Scotland's four European competitors next season.
