She returned to the judges' table this season to pass her wisdom on to hundreds of pop wannabes on American Idol.
But
on Wednesday's finale, Jennifer Lopez letting her performance do the
talking, as she took to the stage for a powerhouse performance of her
new single First Love.
Sporting
a plunging purple fringed leotard with flesh flashing panels, the
44-year-old actress and singer shimmied her way through the number.

She wore her long light brown hair loose around her shoulders and flipped it in circles on top of the judge's table at one point.
And at the end of the number, J-Lo sung a few bars of her hit single Jenny From The Block, much to the audience's delight.

The
new song appears on J-Lo's forthcoming A.K.A. album and her first
performance after scooping the icon gong at last weekend's Billboard
Awards. The Idol audience were in for a further treat when the star swapped her costume for a marginally more demure number to perform with fellow judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr along with advisor Randy Jackson.
Sporting a flared skirt and sheer top with pretty embroidery protecting her modesty, the star wore her hair in an updo and held a tambourine as she sung Cyndi Lauper's True Colors and Fleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way.

Caleb Johnson was crowned the 13th winner of the TV talent show and the rocker from North Carolina was clearly in shock following the announcement from host Ryan Seacrest.

After
being named runner-up, Jena Irene sportingly hugged Johnson who then
performed his coronation single As Long As You Love Me as confetti flew.
Earlier Johnson and Irene had kicked off the finale with a medley of Queen's We Will Rock You, No Doubt's I'm Just a Girl, and Bryan Adams & Tina Turner's It's Only Love.
Johnson's album will be out in August.
