Vitamin Complex For Hair Care

Autumn is the time, when human organism requires more vitamins and minerals than usually. Some are certain: the more useful elements you get, the healthier you become. However, it does not always work this way. It is significant to understand how a particular element influences your organism.

If you are concerned about the health of your hair, you should start with learning about what is good and what is bad for it.
Why vitamins are vital
Hair is a very essential part of human appearance. Change the color or length a bit – and you start to look completely different. Despite the fact that a lot of people are worried about the general hair condition, due to the lack of time, bad ecologic situation, wrong diet and stresses, looking good and staying healthy often becomes a real challenge. And now, add hair dyes and hair straighteners to the list of issues, and no questions about the slow growth and pale color will remain.
What vitamins are useful for hair
There is a list of vitamins that are capable of turning pale and thin hair into a beautiful, strong and shiny.
First of all, these are vitamins of B group. They are generally known as “beauty vitamins”, and this is completely true. For instance, B12 and B8 protect organism from general stress, which is one of the main reasons of hair loss. B2 helps to moisturize hair and scalp. B3 improves pigmentation. It participates in blood circulation process and minimizes hair loss, too. B6 and B12 deal with scurf. B9 improves growing in general. Combined with B5, it slows down aging and appearing of silver hair.

Thanks to Vitamin A, hair grows faster, gets more shiny and thick. At the same time, the structure of hair in general improves, becomes more elastic and is protected from ultraviolet rays.
The combination of Vitamins E and F is the best preventive treatment for hair loss and takes care of hydro-lipid balance.
Vitamin C, which seems a universal element, protects hair bulbs from damages.

Only in case all of the mentioned above vitamins are included in the complex treatment and preventive measures are going to be successful and provide positive results.
Some more tips for healthy hair
The beneficial effect of vitamins is undeniable. However, it is not the single factor, which matters. Healthy and beautiful hair is the result of leading right lifestyle.
It is important to minimize the use of gels and hairsprays, as well as blow-drying and brushing your hair, when it is wet.
You should lower your stress, and it matters not only for hair. Only 30 minutes of exercising per day will make it easier.
Drinking enough water will also help to take care of hair condition and organism wellness in general.

Don’t forget that everything you eat matters. Balanced diet is the answer for all health-related issues, and hair is not an exception. Balanced diet means including proteins, antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals in required amounts. Eating only products rich in vitamin B is not the solution.

Style Update: White into winter?

I know, I know. I can feel you screaming at me. No white jeans after Labor Day. Well, let me break out the bad news for those of you that are still subscribing to that rule. The rule is antiquated. White jeans are no longer a summer-wear only item. You've heard people scream their love for winter white, and jeans are included in that call to action. Now, pairing said jeans with a bright neon sweater might be pushing the rules a little, I admit. But, these shots were taken on the last day of summer. It was a day when the sun was shining and colour was needed to celebrate a flash of the season we were soon to leave behind.

All that being said, the pieces can be worn well into winter when paired with different items. The hot pink sweater, for example, would look great paired with a striped roll neck and a pair of blue jeans with boots. The white jeans can be worn with a chunky grey oversized sweater and a great pair of over-the-knee camel suede boots for a stop-dead-in-your-tracks-style-hit. Enough said, I think!

FFG Travels: Zero George Street, Charleston

Zero George Street, Charleston
Charleston is a magical place. And yes, I'm biased as I'm a Southern girl. Give me a week in Charleston and I'm one with the world, right back where I belong. But, Charleston isn't a town that only a Southern girl would appreciate, as is proven by the millions of tourists that make their way through the city every year. This is a place where old southern hospitality reigns supreme, where the comfort food is actually soul renewing food and the beauty of every passing cobblestone street will stop you dead in your tracks. And I, after many years of visiting, have finally found a hotel that echoes these characteristics of the city perfectly - Zero George Street

Now, it must be said that Zero George Street has been on my radar for some time. Anyone that has ever stayed there was come away waxing lyrical about "porch living" as if its some new found way of enjoying life. You have to understand that the idea of a porch isn't so much an "idea" for southerners as it is a way of life. But, Zero George Street has half a dozen porches, maybe more, that offer foreigners, in town for a night or two, a look at the porch as a meeting place for life. The porches of Zero George Street are designed to draw you out of your suites and into the heat of Charleston. You are meant to check in, lose your heavy luggage and retire to a porch to sit under a fan and enjoy a glass of cold wine and a platter of cheese. Yes, this happens when you check in. Wine and cheese hour is a real thing, it's customized to you and your needs and is brought to your sitting area of choice around the property. That alone would be enough for me to return to Zero George Street every time I visit Charleston.

The wine and cheese is just a perk and only the beginning of the charms found within this Charleston property. Zero George Street's interiors are a whole separate conversation for the masses. The design here is second to none. Guests feel as if they are a part of something old and beautiful where the buildings are restored to perfection and touches here and there make you feel as if Rhett Butler could march into any room at any time. Saying that, you are spoiled with every modern convenience from luxury bathrooms to flat screen TVs in your room.

So many people told me I had to try the food at Zero George Street, as it's regarded as quite the experience in Charleston. Sadly, they were closed on the night I stayed. But, the concierge came to the rescue and booked us into one of Charleston's finest eateries, where reservations are like gold dust. I will say that the breakfast made up for everything. Zero George Street has it's finger on the food trend pulse in Charleston, for sure. Every morning they receive an assortment of breakfast biscuits from Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. For those of you that have never heard of this southern delicacy, it's a comfort food supplier that usually has queues stretching around the block at breakfast. Zero George Street save you the effort and bring them in piping hot for guests in three flavors - buttermilk, ham & cheese and cinnamon.

The morning we checked out, I felt a bit of magic fall off me. We were leaving a southern paradise and I was bracing myself for returning to a harsh London winter. But, I close my eyes and I can feel the heat, smell the salty air and visualise the beautiful streets I was so lucky to walk. Once you visit  Zero George Street in Charleston, you will be forever haunted by its charms. Prepare yourself for repeat visits.

Style Update: The White Stuff Edit

Here's a new brand update for you, folks. Well, they are new to me anyway. But, in fact White Stuff has been keeping ladies and gents, around the UK, stylishly warm for years now. I'm just totally late to the game. Forgive me. I actually fell into the brand through the scarf you see above. It's oversized, texture perfection and my new addiction when it comes to layering this season. The bigger and cozier the scarf, the better, right?

A new love became a brand discussion and I actually ended up contributing a guide to Modern Layering to their website. Don't you just love it when something so natural falls into place? This is why I love what I do. Love a brand, work together and share the love the world over. Job done.

For those of you wondering what I'm wearing above, here's a breakdown. I have to say this is my weekend wear for winter. I feel like a walking advert for warmth! Ha! Stay warm, peeps.

Sweater Weather: Shopping & Styling

Oh the comfort that is found in wrapping up in your favorite piece of knitwear. It's that time of year when you get to wear the coziest of styles and wander the world out and about like a walking duvet. Ok, maybe that's a stretch too far but, it's every reason, wrapped up just there in that sentence, that I love winter. It's the season of comfort - comfort clothing, comfort foods and comfortable nights in! It's also a season where I find myself in a lot of trouble, when it comes to shopping.
I can't resist a chunky oversized knit. If there were a medication I could take to put this addiction to a stop, I would. When the cold sets in, my containers of knitwear come out and every season I find myself struggling for room in the closet to display my fashion security blankets. That's what I call them. They hide every sin committed with a doughnut or cheeseburger. The layers forgive the lack of scrubbing and moisturizing that I should have been taking part in day in and day out. The bigger the knit, the more at home I feel! And this season, folks, the offering for stylish sweaters is insane. So much so that I've put together a pinterest board to keep track of all the items I'm lusting after (both designer and high street), as well as all the stylish ways I'll be wearing them. And, well, as it got a little excessive in its creation I thought it only natural to share this "ode to knitwear."

Enjoy!

Style Update: Track is back!

Take me back 21 years and you'll find a teenager begging her mom for a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit. No really, I'm pretty sure I promised allowance, extra chores and straight As on report cards in exchange for this golden ticket fashion item. It was a must have, with or without the "Juicy" statement rear. Every celeb had a set and every magazine was writing it up as the next best thing since the invention of clothes themselves. Was anyone not touched by Juicy mania?

Fast forward to present day and I still have a soft spot for the ensemble, but I'm giving the traditional Juicy Couture black tracksuit a modern day wardrobing update. From full monty (top and bottom tracksuit attire) to hoodie only, I wanted to show how both ways work with the simple change of bottom half! From velour to sequins (also from Juicy Couture this season), I'm presenting two day looks that are easily wearable for dressing up or dressing down the afternoon. All parts Juicy Couture with a pinch of nostalgia and I'm a smiling bunny just thinking of how much fun this was to shoot!

Written in collaboration with Juicy Couture.

Style Update: Moo

I swear I was a cowgirl in another life. Why else would I let out a scary shriek of absolute delight in spotting this Antonio Zender wrap in the corner of the Fenwick of Bond Street scarf department (which is epic by the way...and this designer is one I have only ever seen at Fenwick's). Yes, yes, I am going on a bit about how much I love this store lately, but it's because I have been going in so often to peruse the new collections for autumn winter. And I, frankly speaking, do firmly believe this is the best edit in London. I don't think I'm going to stop saying that until it's clear to the world. I'm a woman on a mission... a fashion mission!
I digress... Basically, today's Style Update is simply existing to show off the beauty of this Antonio Zender cashmere wrap. It's my perfect travel accessory. Well, that and the vintage Louis Vuitton duffle that my mother decided was time to hand down. Bless the mothers that collect and save for future generations!
