Annie Lennox wins praise from Adele and Elton John at Music Industry Trust Award

All eyes were on singer, Annie Lennox on Monday night when she attended the 22nd Music Industry Trust Award at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
The former Eurythmics star was honoured in recognition of her outstanding contribution to British music and her charity work at the event which was hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenter, Jo Whiley.
Annie, whose solo hits include Why and Walking On Broken Glass, was thrilled with the accolade and said: 'I’m very touched and honoured to receive this award.

'Music has given me a lifetime of experiences and opportunities that I would never have dreamed possible, and I feel very privileged to have been able to become an artist and communicator, especially as a woman.'
The 58-year-old looked decadent in a long gold down with perfectly matching heels. She wore pink lipstick and she kept her famously short, bleached, cropped hair, neat and fuss-free.
Singers Sir Elton John and Adele were among the stars who praised the chart-topping performer.

Speaking in a recorded video message, Sir Elton: 'It is so well deserved and not only for your extraordinary contribution to music and songwriting but also for your outstanding and tireless work as an HIV and AIDS activist and supporter of woman’s rights.'
Archbishop Desmond Tutu also spoke on the film. He said: 'She is one of those exemplary human beings who chose to put her success in her chosen career to work in order to benefit others. She is a true friend of Africa and of South Africa.
'Her Aids activism in general, and support for the treatment action campaign in-particular, contributed significantly to turning the pandemic around in our country.'

And writing in the programme for the event, Oscar-winning singer Adele added:
'So many of her songs have been the soundtrack to my life. Annie Lennox has been a constant part of my life. An example of a brilliant talent that exudes excellence and influence on everyone.'
The fundraising event was attended by more than 1000 other guests, including musicians, David Gray, Sandie Shaw and Peter Gabriel.

Previous winners of the award have been Sir Elton, Gary Barlow and Kylie Minogue OBE
The Music Industry Trusts Award has so far raised over £4.3 million for Nordoff Robbins and the BRIT Trust.

Catherine Zeta-Jones goes shopping amid rumours of a reconciliation with husband Michael Douglas

After spending six months apart, Catherine Zeta Jones stepped out for the first time on Monday after it was reported that her marriage to Michael Douglas was back on track.
The actress looked stylish but casual as she enjoyed a shopping trip with a friend in Greenwich, Connecticut.
The 44-year-old kept things simple in an all-black outfit but injected some colour with a cute printed orange scarf which she loosely tied around her neck.

The Swansea-born star looked to have had a successful trip as she headed to her car carrying a bulging Nordstrom shopping bag, as well as a bottle of water.

Her trim figure was kept hidden under a classic black jacket, complete with gold buttons, and a pair of loose-fitting black trousers.

The Chicago star made sure she was comfortable for her outing in cute, black wedged boots, while wearing a ring on her wedding finger.
Sources told the Daily Mirror that the Welsh actress is living in the couple's New York apartment with Douglas, 69, and both are fighting hard to keep their marriage alive.

The news came after they announced they were 'taking time apart' to 'evaluate and work on their marriage' back in August.

A US report said that Douglas recently announced the news to his friends, with the report stating that he 'couldn't be happier; and 'he was overheard saying they have reconciled.'
At the premiere of his latest film, Last Vegas, Douglas was seen on the red carpet wearing his wedding ring, where one event-goer said: 'She called to wish him good luck and he said "thanks honey." Douglas hung up with a smile.'
According to another source, he spoke about his beautiful wife for most of the evening, who added: 'People kept asking what's going on with Catherine. Michael said, "We are doing great, she's better than ever," and said their kids are doing great.'

One Direction return to London after wrapping up their sell-out world tour

They've just completed a worldwide sell-out tour but even boy band, One Direction seemed surprised by the homecoming they received when they touched down at London's Heathrow airport on Monday.
The boys flew home from Tokyo where they wrapped up months of global shows for their Take Me Home 2013 tour and no doubt they were pleased to get back home to see their families.
It's been a busy time for 1D. Having kicked off the tour in the UK in February, the group played a huge 61 dates in Europe, 41 in North America, 25 in Australia and two in Asia.

Niall Horan, 20, took to Twitter to express how much of a blast the boys have had on tour:
'134 shows !And I wasn't bored for one show because we have the best fans on the planet, and we do all this for u,coz u gave all of this t us [sic]'
Despite enduring around a 12 hour flight home, the boys seemed more than happy to stop and sign autographs and have their pictures taken with their eager fans who had waited patiently to see them.

Harry Styles, 19, had dressed down for the flight but that didn't stop a crowd of Directioners racing towards him excitedly.

Harry also wore his favourite brown suede Chelsea boots and a big beaming smile.

Sportswear was clearly the theme of the day as Liam Payne, 20, was spotted wearing a black trendy Txnmy beanie hat, a black and white Adidas hoody and baggy jeans.

Harry's style was a far cry away from the get-up he wore on Halloween when he dressed up as twerking popstar, Miley Cyrus.

He wore a pair of latex shorts and that iconic foam finger and he stuck his tongue out in  an image that would driven his fans wild.

Enjoying some time away from their busy life in Los Angeles, Mel B and husband Stephen Belafonte looked to be having a great time together while in Australia last week.
The Spice Girls star's amazing figure was hard to miss in a tiny red bikini, complete with gold metal detailing, as she scrambled across rocks on Bronte Beach in Sydney.
The singer looked incredibly happy as the pair held hands while walking across the sand before heading back to their hotel... but not before her hubby got a handful while helping her get changed.

Meanwhile, Mel also opened up about her relationship with Stephen in the interview with Cleo, dismissing the rumours back in 2010 that the pair had enjoyed a threesome with a stripper.

Mel's admission about kissing her bandmates came after an interview with Howard Stern last month in which she admitted to having been attracted to all of the girls at one point or another.
She said: 'Always. Yes they are my homies. I kissed all of them, yes.'
Asked whether she had had threesomes while in the Spice Girls, she appeared to say yes, replying: ‘Back in the day, I had fun.’
