Whats in my Travel Makeup Bag

For tofays post I thought I'd share the things that I packed with me in my makeup bag as I went on my Trek trip! I love these whats in my makeup bag videos as it's always so interesting to see what people take with them and what they consider to be essentials!

My makeup bag is from Muji and was one of my favourite things I picked up before I left for my trip. The bag came in handy when I was away because I could take it in and out my suitcase with ease to take to the bathrooms to do my makeup and having everything organised and easy to reach was so handy. I also made a similar bag with all my skincare and haircare items in if you are interested in seeing that I can also do a post on my skincare bits.

I hope you find it helpful if you're off on a holiday in the next few months and want to know how I condensed my usual makeup collection into something more portable! Let me know what you think and make sure you give it a big ol' thumbs up over on my channel, it would mean a lot to me!

Exploring The HALL Collection in Notting Hill

I have a new obsession to fess up to and it's so very unhealthy. Well, it's unhealthy for the credit card. It's very heavy in health, however, when it comes to decoration. A few weeks ago I was officially introduced to The Hall Collection in Notting Hill. The shop is hidden away on the corner of Lonsdale Road and Colville Road, not exactly in the hustley and bustley part of Notting Hill, but rather in a sort of "seek and you shall find" location. I'm referring to it as the ultimate treasure hunt, as what you find when you arrive is well worth the time you take to seek it out.

For me, the magic of this beautiful collection begins with the founder - Min Lee. Lee, a former jewellery buyer for Net-a-Porter, has put together a curated collection in store that will have you wishing you had more arms, ears and fingers to adorn. She is fabulously charming and so incredibly passionate about her items that you feel as if you are buying into the family when you walk away with a piece of the collection.

In store, you'll find three sections to peruse. There's the Hall Collection - jewellery designed by Ming Lee and contemporary in its approach. There are also collections of guest designers that are constantly on rotation in store. Lastly, and my personal favourite, are the antique selections. These items are personally picked by Ming Lee and altered, when need be, to fit into a modern woman's wardrobe. This could mean lengthening of a necklace or repurposing a stone. In short, while you are spoilt for choice, the collection still feels highly edited and wonderfully easy to shop. You aren't overwhelmed by the bling in store, but rather seduced by the sophistication of the pieces available to purchase.

If you are in the Notting Hill / Westbourne Grove area, this is a treasure trove not to be missed!

Handbag sticker mania gives new life to old bags

Sadly, your plain old handbag just won't do anymore. Well, at least not since Anya Hindmarch introduced the ultimate in handbag decoration.

In actuality, Anya Hindmarch has offered our old handbags a sort of second life. One application of a trendy sticker and your long forgotten leather tote is as good as gold. Simple as that. From Tony the Tiger to a true personal statement with initials, this might just be my favourite accessory updater of the season. LOVE!!!!

Whats in my Suitcase

Whats in my Suitcase

Before I left for my Trek America I decided to do a packing video. It was a super casual video but I thought it might be a fun idea to show what I was brining with me. You can watch that over on my Youtube Channel for a full run down on all the things I picked to take with me!

There are a few things I’d change now I’m back and reflecting on the trip. Id really recommend bringing long pants/trousers and something like leggings or yoga pants. I last minute packed sweatpants but no jeans so I ended up buying pants while I was away. It’s America so everything was super easy to get hold of but you could save yourself money by packing them with you. I’d already planned on picking up an ‘murica hoody so I only bought the one I wore on the plane which was an error. Bring a few warm clothes even if you think its going to be hot because even thought it was generally pretty warm it does get incredibly cold in the evenings. Just because you’re in the desert it doesn’t mean it won’t get cold! It’s worth noting that our trip was unseasonably cold and rainy! I also packed a dress for our last night in Vegas as I wanted something a little over the top/dressy for Vegas, because it’s goddam Vegas!

Apart from that I used pretty much used and wore everything I bought with me. I would 100% recommend bringing a sleeping bag liner as it creates a extra warmth layer. Pick up things like suncream, bug spray (although I didn’t use it at all on the trip and didn’t get bitten) and a pillow from a Walmart stop along the way!
