Christian
Bale treated his wife and daughter to a special Mother's Day brunch in
Los Angeles on Sunday, and by this time next year his party of three
will be a party of four.
The family went to Sor Tino, an Italian restaurant in the Brentwood section of the city.
The Welsh actor, 40, and his spouse, Sibi Blazic, 44, revealed after the Oscars that they are expecting their second child.
Growing family: Christian Bale, his daughter and pregnant wife Sibi enjoyed a Mother's Day brunch
The pair, married for 14 years, is already parents to daughter Emmeline, nine.
The
casually dressed actor wore black shorts, a gray shirt and flip flops
for the family outing and protected his eyes with sunglasses.
His
lovely brunette wife, who was Winona Ryder's assistant when they met,
wore black pants a black T-shirt and a black light sweater with black
flats.
Bringing round the car: The actor locks his car before heading off with his family for their meal
Emmeline
added a little color to the family portrait in pink shorts and a gray,
fringed T-shirt with a rainbow smiley face on the front.
The
Hollywood couple managed to conceal Sibi's growing belly throughout the
awards season, during which Christian was nominated for several awards,
including an Oscar, for his role in Amerian Hustle.
But at the Academy Awards in early March a visible baby bump could be seen as Sibi wore a Dolce & Gabbana gown.
Deep in conversation: Christian listens intently to his wife as they get ready to celebrate Mother's Day
The doting parents prefer to keep their private life hidden, but he did reveal some details about their parenting.
'I love anything that [Emmeline] likes,' Christian told Esquire back in 2010.
'If
she's getting a kick out of it, I love it. I find myself tearing up at
the most ridiculous things now, sitting next to my daughter while she's
watching a movie. Me and my wife look across at each other like, "Oh my
God! Are we really doing this? Yes we are!"'
Secret is out: Sibi did a good job of hiding her
growing belly throughout the awards season, but could no longer conceal
it at the Oscars
The actor also praised his longtime lady love in a 2011 interview with People.
'[Blazic] is
such a good, strong woman,' the American Hustle actor gushed. 'I truly believe you can't celebrate [success] without
having your partner with you.'
The Golden Globe winner will next
play Moses in Ridley Scott's Biblical epic Exodus - due out December 12
- with Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, and Aaron Paul.
However,
it's still unclear when either of the Terrence Malick's films -
including Knight of Cups - starring Bale will ever be released.
