A senior investigating officer claims
Justin Bieber ‘deserves a felony’ for the alleged egging of a property
close to his sprawling Calabasas home.
The 20-year-old old singer is understood to have caused more than $20,000 worth of damage to his neighbour’s property during a frenetic attack on the residence in January.
Speaking to TMZ, Lt. Dave Thompson says Bieber, who was identified on CCTV footage from the scene, deserves the harshest punishment available for vandalism.
‘I led a team of people into a house where there's armed security,’ he said of his ensuing search of Bieber’s home. ‘I wouldn't have done that if this was just a misdemeanor case.’
A final decision on Bieber’s fate rests with Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey and her officials – and the precocious singer’s alleged victim claims he could well be charged.
The neighbour claims the Deputy DA told him: ‘If we don't charge him with a felony we ruin precedent for every other felony case we want to charge.’
Following the incident said victim – who was at home with his 13-year-old daughter at the time of the attack – was forced to submit damages to the tune of $20,000 in the aftermath.
A police incident report written
by the investigating officer describes how the star is seen running
towards the home, before returning 'laughing and celebrating' with his
friends, at the time of the attack in January.
'I observed Suspect Bieber run down his driveway from his residence and in the direction of [the victim's house],' stated the investigating officer, in the report.
A short time later I observed Suspect Bieber... high fiving [a group of males]. Suspect Bieber and the other males appeared to be laughing and celebrating.'
And the report also explains how Bieber was identified - by his ugly sweater.
Bieber posted an Instagram picture of himself wearing the same outfit seen on the CCTV footage that day.
'I compared the Instagram photo to the surveillance video,' writes the officer, in a report posted on TMZ.
'I observed Suspect Bieber was in the same attire as depicted... wearing a white sweatshirt with black images along the neckline.
'Suspect Bieber is also wearing a dark colored ball cap with a white logo in the center.'
Court records show that detectives investigating a felony vandalism case against Justin Bieber have obtained a search warrant for the pop star's Instagram account.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detective obtained a warrant to search Bieber's account with the online photo-sharing site on March 13.
